Jared Granted Neutrality
Departure from the Nexus Hoped to Pique Interest in RITO

On July 24, 2001, the Emm of the Senatus Populusque Jaredis, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm, and the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg reached agreement over the neutrality of the nation of Jared. As a result, the Senatus Populusque Jaredis is now a neutral state, no longer protected by Lindsholm, and committed to peace and economic prosperity. Many claim that the move is an effort by backers of the Rubicon initiative to attract investors from all corners of the Mapp, including those hostile to the Platinum Nexus.

Since its inception, the nation of Jared has been a Lindsholm protectorate. Part of the United Commonwealth of Lindsholm (UCL), Jared was invaded in the War of 2K1 and surrendered to Kamogradian forces. Subsequent liberation and creation of the Platinum Nexus, which merged the UCL with the Phalanx Treaty Organization (PTO), resulted in Jared becoming an honorary member of the Platinum Nexus. Jared's status was honorary as it did not want to participate in the power bloc system and exacerbate the Cold War, but it still required protection all the same.

The neutral Senatus Populusque Jaredis hopes to be a financial enclave with the Rubicon International Trade Organization (RITO) being its crown jewel. An insider from the Riksholm claimed that the Supreme Viceroy allowed renunciation of Lindsholm protection due to the fact that Jared was now fully capable of sustaining itself nationally. In a press conference, the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg wished the people of Jared the best of luck in the future.
