Samchorage Cancels Alliance
Independence and Neutrality Reinforced

On September 11, 2001, the President of Samchorage cancelled the Omega Directive, an alliance between his nation and Rattanjeetland. The development is yet another signal that after crossing paths in the now defunct Phoenix Confederacy, Samchorage and Rattanjeetland are splitting paths once more. Reaction by the Ethnarch of Rattanjeetland has been tepid, as the cancellation of the alliance wasn't shocking but at the same time wasn't expected.

While the Ethnarch pursues rearmament to protect itself in the post-Cold War world, the President of Samchorage continues to embark on his policy of peaceful development and neutrality. Dissolution of the Omega Directive only goes to reinforce the contrast between the two countries. For example, the Ethnarch recently unveiled plans to build new missile silos. In Samchorage, construction cranes are in the process of building more offices for the growing Samchorage economy.
