ADEMA
Adema is the best thing to come out of Southern California since KoRn. And it just so happens lead singer Mark Chavez is  the younger 1/2 brother of KoRn frontman, Johnathan Davis. Since the release of their self titled debut album, Adema has recieved nothing but praise from hard rock fans and critics alike. They had a slow start at first, however since their promotion on MTV's The Real World New York it has been all uphill from there.
Most of the songs on the Adema record express the darker side of human nature. The first track off the album, Everyone, sets the tone. Everyone is about people who are always pointing the finger at others, instead of looking at themselves. The song is kind of laughing at those kinds of people in a joking manner. " We have the tendency to do it ourselves, so it's sorta like were making fun of us," said Chavez. Freaking Out, another great song off the album, tells the story of growing up
in a town where your either a football player or your nothing. - wow I didn't know these guys grew up in Mason! -
Perhaps the most relatible topic on the record is addiction. Which was the basis for their breakthrough hit Giving In. "I Found out that addiction is not always the worst thing in the world, it may make you stronger in the end, I just wanted people to know that through the song," Said Chavez. It appears that many people did get the message, being that Giving in is # 2 on Billboard's rock chart. With these songs Adema has created a new fusion of street smarts and contemporary modern rock on a heavy metal foundation. This creative and intelligent style has boosted the band to "rockstar" status on the evergrowing numetal scene.
