if you have not read them.. If you have come to The Medieval World as an enemy, get lost! You must be a member here to
participate in any wars, games, feasts ect. We are peacefull with other
realms.
This is a safe zone where all from any kingdom may come in
peace and chat without the threat of violence or capture. We have
done a lot of research and have tried to make the Medieval World as
historically accurate as possible as well as combining it with medieval
fantasy for those that crave magick.

These rules have been written
to make the time in the rooms enjoyable and pleasant. Always
remember to be polite and show consideration of other as there is a real
person on the other side of the monitor. Try to keep in mind that
you are here to role play. If you are bored, perhaps it is you that
are boring. No one is here to entertain you. Try to find an
acceptable way to become a part of the role play or to create role play in
the room. Interact with others, it's why you're here. And keep
in mind that when in different rooms or when in the presense of different
people, there are appropriate ways to behave. Try learning a bit
about history, and read our information so that you may
understand.

Read
over the rules and ways carefully as you will be expected to act
accordingly. Ignorance of a
rule will not change the enforcement of it.
1. The
Medieval World is a fantasy medieval role playing
realm
- Try to remain in theme and keep non theme
conversations in private messages. If the theme is not to your
liking, try to find one that is. We are constantly working on making
more rooms available. We have no observers here, expect to be drawn
into the room and to interact with others. Take a name that is
appropriate to the medieval theme. No anonymous names will be
tolerated including cloaked and hooded names.
- Do not disrupt the
room with your behavior
- If playing in any build of vp, when the
room is filling up, make sure to make room for others by eliminating games
when necessary.
- Keep intimate and sexual encounters in private
messaging. Any public posts of such will not be tolerated.

2. If you are asked to leave the
room by a council member, do so immediately and without
argument. If you wish to discuss it, do so in writing and send it
via email to Aranel Elena. It will not be discussed in the
room.
3. If you have been declared dead or banned, you are
not welcome here. If you wish to discuss it, do so in writing
and send via email to Aranel Elena. It will not be discussed in the
room.
4. Acceptable and non acceptable role
play
-
The Medieval World uses rold play based on your imagination. Try to
make it believable and reasonable as well as historically accurate as much
as possible.
- The Medieval World is set in fantasy medieval times,
and only characters of this time will be recognized for role play.
Only refer to things within the time period of medieval or earlier.
We do not know of computers, printers, microwaves and such. Most of
us still firmly believe in the world being flat.
- If you wish to
begin a major role play that will greatly affect the room and most of the
members, make sure to run it past a member of council first. Do not
attempt to add members to the royal family without council's specific
permission.
- The Medieval World will not allow the role play of
children where assault, slavers, rape, sex or anything related to these
are involved, suggested or even spoken of concerning children. Keep
any role play of children appropriate and within thier abilities.
Role play of child characters are by permission only from the
council.
- Any killing aimed at only taking control of the Medieval
World or any of it's Kingdoms are automatically considered null and
void.
5. What
to do if new
- Make an effort to fit into the room
- We
were all new at one time or another and any council member will help get
you started
- Ask the council member in private messaging so as not
to disrupt the role play in the room
- We are always open to new
members

Capture Rules
- If you are not a member of this realm, you may
not capture anyone while in The Medieval World.
- A minimum of five
posts are necessary for a capture
- A minimum of three posts are
necessary for an escape.
7. Magic
- Use of magic or abilities
above those of a normal human will only be done so with permission granted
by the council.
- Use of magic is not to be excessive. Any
magic used to harrass or annoy others will not be permitted. Casting
spell after spell is not realistic in real time and is not realistic here
either. Use your magic wisely.
- When using magic,
clearly state the spell, and give a description of what it is to do.
Do not just expect others to know what it is or what it is supposed to do,
elsewise, expect no one to respond to it.
- If you insist on using
special abilities, extreme magic powers or the like, without permission or
just to get on others nerves, you will be asked to leave. The
council members all have lists of everyone's special abilities and who has
been granted what as far as powers go.
8. The Medieval World is a full kill /
mirror zone, wich means this: If you cannot come and kill, capture,
have combat or do magick in our realm or home, then we cannot do such in
yours.
9. The Gods and Goddess' may order to,
and have every right to kill any character they see fit. Meaning
that any council member, or honorary member, may kill you on sight with a
single post. There is no need to respond to this as you will be
dead.
10. Any council member, or honorary member may kill
with one post, those that are causing problems with the realm. You
must first be warned in public that you are causing trouble and the nature
of the problem.
Kill / Combat / Spar
Rules
1. If you are not a member of the Medieval World
you cannot kill here. No kills done in private messaging are
permitted as they cannot be witnessed or verified.
2. One
post kills are not permitted, (see rule number nine and 10 under basic
rules for the exception). Even the stealthiest assasins may have
thier weekness to anothers abilities, and your level of combat skill
reflects upon your level of power, not a cowardly knife stabbed in
someone's back. Everyone is given the option and the opprotunity to
defend themselves.
3. The kill or combat must be saved for
later verification by both combatants and thier witness'. Without a
saved copy, do not expect a legal event. Present the script to the
Aranel Elena via email. Both combatants are asked to submit a
script of what happened. It will be posted to the forum once it is
declared legal and the name of the dead character will be posted to the
list of declared dead and banned.
4. There must be at least
two witness' present or the attack is invalid.
5. All weapons
must be stated at the begining of combat and is not considered one of the
five legal posts. There are two actions per post. You must mix
up the posts with either one defense and one attack, or two defenses, or
two attacks, wichever you like. Accepting a strike or blow or wound
does not count against the two allowed actions
6. In combat,
there is a minimum of three posts from each combatant for a legal
kill, after such an opponent still has the option to counter.
If the opponent is not able to fulfill a legal and viable counter, then
the kill will be accepted. However, if it is countered, then the
combat will continue, untill one or either is dead, or concedes
defeat. Five minutes are allowed for response time.
7.
The person that starts the combat must begin with the following
line: "looks
at _____ with intent to kill". This is not counted as one of the three
legal posts.
8. Multiple characters are not allowed to attack
a single character.
9. It matters not wich form your
character is, or list you are on, if you do not have permission from the
council for special abbilities during combat, then you will fight as a
human, without any special abilities and non human powers.
10. If permission for magic or special abilities has been
given, do not destroy the castle, harm others that are not involved or
destroy the kingdom in your combat.
11. If conditions have
been met for magic or special abilities, these rules will also
apply:

Spells must be presented in the following manner: the name of the
spell, then a brief description. The description is needed so that
the opponent knows how to respond to the spell.
- When casting
magic during combat, no matter the spell or discipling, that magic must
take up three posts. This keeps players from power playing and keeps
the fight fair. The order the spell must go in is something like the
following: (1) concentrate (2) cast (3) describe the intent of the
magick
- Only spells that have been reviewed by the council will be
recognized

Any killings aimed only at taking ownership of The Medieval World or any
of it's kingdoms, will be automatically considered null and void.
