COMPLAINING
Psalm 142:2-3
I tell you all of my worries and my troubles, and whenever I feel low, you are there to guide me.
If you are going to complain. Respectively complain to God. Notice I said "respectively". More so, tell him what your "worries" and "troubles" are when you "feel low" so that he can fix you all up. God loves you and wants to help you... Many times all we need to do is ask. Whenever you feel like taking revenge on people, remember that God is the one to "take revenge" (Romans 12:19)... That is his job, not ours. Whenever you make a relatively sorry grade on a test then remember that it will all work out (Romans 8:28). Set a goal to do better. Whenever you have made a mess of the day you are in then look forward to doing better in the present and don't look back to the past. Besides, you have a whole new start tomorrow! It is easier said than done, though. See, my dear friend, it is all how you look at things. Trust me, if you look on the good side of things with a fresh perspective and not stare at the negative things then you will be a lot more happier. It isn't fun talking to a negative person!
Philippians 2:14
Do everything without grumbling or arguing.
- This can be really hard to do sometimes. I have problems with complaining. For one good example: My mom got a vehicle, and whenever I first saw it I didn't have high expecatations for it. I would complain every day about it. "It smells bad." "It's so compact." "The headrests hurt." "What a piece of junk!" (Statements like that.) Now, what did that do? Well, first it didn't help matters. Secondly, it just made me dislike the car even more, because I would sink more and more into the bad things about the car. I decided one day that I needed to not "grumble" about the vehicle, and so I decided to try and not say one complaint about the vehicle the whole day. I accomplished that goal, and it helped me not to complain as much... Now, I really don't complain about it much at all. I am working on not complaining about it, but instead to compliment it. "I am glad that it has power windows." "It's nice to have four doors." "Wow! Did you feel the pick-up!?" I have learned that it helps a lot.
It gives you a better perspective, and makes you feel better. It also makes others feel better. And guess what! The stinch in the vehicle is gone.
THOUGHTS
Matthew 5:27-30 talks about how we should not think lustful thoughts. God wants us to think purely.
Philippians 4:8
And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Romans 12:1-2
Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.
Matthew 6:2
Your heart will always be where your treasure is.
Matthew 15:19
Out of your heart comes evil thoughts,...
