In the Shadows

I look into the darkness
I stare into its eyes
what do i see?
Despair, deceit, anger
yet this does not frighten me.
what frightens me
are the things i do not see
could there be something there
so dark it blends in
and escapes our vision
escapes into the empty void
of another relm
