RIN NADOW LOJM-Class Monitor

AN AVERAGE RIN NADOW LOJM-CLASS MONITOR

The RIN NADOW LOJM-Class, or T’sentraedi Monitor as Terrans call it, was created to fufill a specific role in the T’sentrædi fleets. The Robotech Masters possessed a tremendously powerful wepon in the Reflex Cannon. Unfortunately, they had very few ships designed to carry such weaponry. While the NUPITENT VERIGNTIZ-Class flagship carried this weapon, the ship was way too expensive for mass-production.
The result of the program was the RIN NADOW LOJM-Class. At just over 12ØØm long, the ship was the second smallest in the fleet (only larger than the Scout). It carried relatively few Mecha and a relatively small armament, but it’s Reflex Cannon made it an invaluable asset. The Cannon itself was modeled along the same “bow split” design as the cannon on the larger flagship, giving the Monitor a long, somewhat stretched appearance resembling the bow portion of the QUEODEL MAGDOMILLA-Class command ship.
Initially, Monitors were only assigned to large fleets under the command of trusted senior officers. DOLZA and the Masters considered it too dangerous for potentially untrustworthy commanders (such as Khyron) to use this ship. Later, as the T’sentrædi fleet’s resources began to deplete, the ships were all re-assigned to a special fleet under the personal command of Lord DOLZA. These ships were used in the T’sentrædi assault on Earth, and accounted for the majority of Damage done to the planet. Most of them were destroyed in the counterattack by the SDF-1 and BREETAI’S fleet. A few survived and were either scrapped or used for components for the REF’s fleet.
The other infamous moment in this ships history was when Khyron used one in his final Attack on Macross City. The ship’s main gun was by this point nearly inoperable, although it did do enough damage to destroy the SDF-2 with a single hit. The ship was crippled by the SDF-1’s main gun, and destroyed when it rammed the SDF-ØØ1 minutes later.

Notes:
* Depleting the MDC of the forward section means that the forward third of the ship has been destroyed. This includes the main cannon and the command centre. Nothing on the ship, including life support, engines, and weapons will work, leaving the ship a floating wreck.
** Depleting the MDC of the main engines will force the ship to rely on its secondary engines. Depleting the MDC of the main engines AND secondary engines will leave the ship adrift in space. If in an atmosphere, the ship will crash (destruction of the main engines will render the antigravity system useless due to loss of power).

maneuver in an atmosphere. Maximum speed limited to Mach 1.
Maximum Range: Unlimited (Protoculture generator has an estimated 3Ø year life span).
Length: 3,997 feet 4½ inches
Clearance: 1809 feet 6 inches.
Beam: 1250 feet 1½ inches.
Displacement: 25,3ØØ,ØØØ tons.

Cost And Availability About 1Ømillion€; Fairly rare, though. though it has become
more popular with the UGC due to it’s cost, it was never really popular with the malcontent crowd outside the T’sentrædi.

Weapons Systems:
1. Reflex Cannon: A smaller version of the incredibly destructive wepon found on the Zentraedi Flagship, and similar (but less powerful)
to the SDF-1’s main gun. To fire, the monitor needs 5 minutes (2Ø
rounds) to power up, then one minute (four rounds) before it can fire. When ready, the front of the ship opens up like a monsterous jaw, with
energy crackling between the two booms. The weapon destroys anything
in its path.
However, unlike NUCLEAR weapons, Reflex weaps are
NOT radioactive, and therefore life can return within hours, in theory,
if the heat had disipated.
MD: Absolutely destroys EVERYTHING in its path, regardless of
MDC and movement. ¡The only way to avoid obliteration is to avoid
being in the path of the beam! If used against a planet, the beam causes
3D6×1,ØØØ,ØØØ MD (¡!), leaving only a crater 1D6×1Ø miles across and
3D6×1ØØ feet deep. The resulting shockwave will also cause substantial
damage to surrounding terrain for an additional 1D6×5 miles from the
edge of the crater. (Note: A sufficiently strong force field can
deflect/absorb the beam if necessary. Examples of such fields include
multiple pinpoint barrier shields layered on top of each other. A force
field must have AT LEAST 2Ø,ØØØ MDC capacity before it can resist
a heavy particle beam of this magnitude.).
Range: 1ØØ,ØØØ miles at 1 mile wide (half that in an atmosphere).
Rate Of Fire: Once per 8 minutes (32 melees).
Payload: Effectively Unlimited, but limited to five times per hour.

2. Thirty Retractable Laser Turrets: Scattered across the ship. The
cannons are nomally concealed within the ship’s hull, but rise up when needed
to attack the enemy. Each turret can rotate 36ذ with a 18ذ arc of fire.
MD: 1D4×1ØØ MD each.
Range: 32Ø,ØØØkm (half in an atmosphere).
Rate Of Fire: Each turret can fire twice per melee.
Payload: Effectively unlimited.

3. Thirty Missile Turrets Scattered across the ship. The turrets are nomally concealed within the ship’s hull, but rise up when needed to attack the enemy. Each turret can rotate 36ذ with a 18ذ arc of fire.
Missile Types: Any type of Long Range Missile can be used. Reflex missiles are commonly used to avoid hitting friendly aircraft.
MD and Range: Varies.
Rate Of Fire: Each turret can fire one missile once per melee.
Payload: Effectively unlimited (hundreds of missiles).

4. Twenty Torpedo Tubes: Located along the sides of the ship. The tubes launch boosted long-Range missiles that fire straight ahead, but have a longer Range and faster flight speed.
Missile Types: Any type of Long Range Missile can be used. Reflex missiles are commonly used to avoid hitting friendly aircraft.
MD and Range: Varies, but 5Ø% longer and faster than listed.
Rate Of Fire: Each tube can fire one missile once per melee.
Payload: Effectively unlimited (hundreds of missiles).

5. Mecha: The main reason the RIN NADOW LOJM-Class has come into popularity with RDF’s is it’s fairly good Mecha capabilities, especially since the Mecha bays did not have to be converted.

  • ESM: Radar Detector. Passively detects other radars being operated.
  • Radar: Combat grade radar. Range 1ØØ miles, can track up to 5Ø individual targets. 95% reliability (24% against unfriendly stealthed vehicles).
  • Blue Force Tracker: Identifies friend from foe. Overlays the information on both the radar and HUD, ensuring that friendly forces are not accidentally targeted.
  • GPS: Standard tracking device. Ties into the Blue Force Tracker.
  • Anti-Jamming System: Reduces Electronics Countermeasure by 25% (decrease skill level appropriately).
  • HUD: Displays maps, radar, targeting information, and any OTHER information the wearer wants directly in front of the user. One is located at each weapons control station, and another makes up the majority of the bridge.
  • FLIR/SLIR: Forward and Side Looking Infrared. Allows pilot to get visuals on targets at night.
  • Virtual Map: Displays a continuously-updating map of local terrain for the bridge. Takes data from and gives data to other friendly units in the area. Effective navigation of 85% as updates come. Good to 5ØØ miles. Specific range can be adjusted in 1Ø,ØØØ mile increments.
  • 1 MC: Internal loudspeaker.
  • Video Camera: Records from the HUD. 5,ØØØ hours of recording available.
  • Full range optic sensory suite: Infrared, ultra violet, Magnification, night sight, color filters, thermal imager.
    Range is about 2ØØ miles for MOST sensors.
  • Survival Pack: A pack of simpler emergency survival supplies: Pup tent, sleeping bag, black light, GPS, first aid kit (bandages, gauze, bandage tape, pads, antiseptic/analgesic), plasma torch (for small repairs and starting fires), repair kit (with MDC Repair Spray), sewing kit (a small spool of thread and 5 needles), 7 star flares (25Ø feet apogee), 2 white parachute flares (1,5ØØ feet apogee), 1ØØ feet of black or brown parachute cord (15Ø lbs tensile strength), 2-5 days rations, 2 gallons water, water purification kit- good for about 1Ø gallons.
