Cosette stands in her garden on Rue Plumet. Valjean leaves the garden. Marius and Eponine arrive outside. Marius meets Cosette and introduces himself. Marius and Cosette sing of their mutual love "In My Life", while Eponine looks on.
Marius goes into the garden, leaving Eponine outside the gate.
