Dance Medley

MERRY WIDOW WALTZ

When the waltz is playing,
all the skies are clear.
When the waltz is playing
then the stars appear.

As we waltz we sing to
One we’re dreaming of,
(we’re dreaming of)
We have played our serenade:
“The waltz is love.”

CHARLESTON

Ev’ry step you do
leads to something new–
Man, I’m telling you–
it’s a lapazoo.

Buck dance, wing dance,
will be a back number,
but the Charleston, the new Charleston,
That dance is surely a comer.

Sometime, you’ll dance to it one time,
Women:
The dance called the Charleston–
 made in South Caroline.

TEA FOR TWO

Men:
Picture you upon my knee,
Just tea for two, and two for tea,
Just me for you and you for me alone.

Women:
Nobody near us
to see us or hear us,
No friends or relations
on weekend vacations,
We won’t have it known, dear,
that we own a telephone, dear.
