Georges Bizet, composer of the opera Carmen, used the tune as a farandole (a kind of stately dance) in his incidental 
music for Alphonse Daudet’s play L’Arlesienne (The Woman from Arles).  In the TV show The Prisoner, in episode #14,
"Hammer into Anvil", the hero (#6) plays six identical recordings of Bizet's version of the tune while watching his watch, in his
effort to break down #2.
