Home       Previous Day    Next Day
I am writing this on the Tuesday after the horrendous attack on our nation.  I was very solemn on monday but I knew I had something to be happy about, my weekend

This entry should be called, "Things Don't always go as planned"  Well, Saturday was a regular day.  Very nice on the outside parts, not too hot, not too cold.  I went to the Health food store to find the necessary ingredients to join the OkayPlayer fast.  Even though I'm late with it I will join.  I went to the mall to look at things that I cannot afford.  Yes, I am still figuring out my fall wardrobe, and doing very well finding deals I might add.

N-E-way, on Sunday, I planned to go to chuch, come home, feed my belly, wash my hair, and pick out clothes for the coming week.  Nice plan huh?  WELL that did not happen.  At 5am my roomie comes in my room holding her big belly, complaining of pain in her abdomen.  I ask her is it upset stomach or cramp pain, it was cramps, nah it was contractions.  Chick had been having contractions for the last hour.  Well you know what happens from there, we get her bag ready.  Why now? Well the little bugger wasn't due until 9/22/01, who knew, we thought we had time (understatment of the day, right?)  Let me just give ya'll a timeline:

5:00 -Contrations start.
6:15 - Contractions are 4 mins apart.
7:30 - Erykah Badu is played to calm the nervous mommy       down.

8:25 - Contractions get longer but not closer together. I call     the hospital, they say stay home and wait.

10:00 - We make a lists of things still needed for the baby,       takes her mind off the pain.

10:45 - Contractions are 3 mins apart, we get ready to go.

10:55 - Mommy gets the urge to push, naw dawg, we can't have that.  I gently urge mommy to hurry up!

11:45 - (Mommy is soooooo slow) We arrive at the hospital,   she is checked and is already dilated to 2 cms

12:00pm - Nurse tells her to walk around the hospital to         stimulate her uterus.

12:30 - We come back to the room, mommy is doing very    well with her breathing excersises. Docter checks her,            mommy has jumped to 5 cm dilated.

1:50- Nurse comes in, relays that Doctors are discussing       breaking her water.

3:00 - They break the water, mommy dilates to 7 cm

4:10 - Nurse discusses an eppidural with mommy (this is the third time) she refuses, asks for a muscle relaxer                    instead.

5:30 - Mommy is HIGH!! Comedy insues.  She is talking off  the top of her head.  Falling asleep out of nowhere,                 waking up singing songs, can I get some of what she             got?

6:17 - Mommy isn't dilating like she should, doctors talk about stimulating her uterus with a pitocin drip.

6:30 - Mommy doesn't want to do this, her drug s have worn out, we talk about an epidural.

7:00 - Doctors give her the DRIP.  Contractions coming every minute!

7:10 - Mommy screams for the "EPIDURAL MAN!", the         baby's godfather tells her "Don't try and be a soldier"              she takes heed.

8:00 - Epidural man took dumb long to get there, but mommy is in comfort.  I am sooooo hungry and have a stress              headache, godfather comforts me (I used to like                     godfather)

9:00- Mommy is knocked out, sleeping soundly.  The              Bahamien crew come, bringing the second dose of                  comedy for the day.  Little Autistic boy is sooo special,           making for more comedy.  He's 3 and he can't talk,                 somehow we find this funny.

10:00 - Nurse comes in mommy is fully dilated. We               commence with the pushing.

11:33 - J'halin (Jalen) Anthony is born.  He is soooo cute!!!
The Weekend, Baby!
