In the year 1767 he built a brick house which after the lapse of 157 years (1924) is still standing and has the appearance of being good for another 100 years. It is now occupied by Samuel Rittenhouse, but little is known of this family. It is acertained, however, that his youngest daughter, Rachel, married Dr. George Campbell, a successful practitioner, who owned and resided on a farm located near his father-in-law on the south side of the road. It is said he lost his home by neglecting to have his deed recorded, it being mislaid or lost. Dr. Campbell and Rachel had two children - Ann born 07 Oct 1797 and James born 17 Jan 1799, died in his 16th year. Ann Campbell became the wife of John Fine of Finesville, Warren Co, New Jersey. John Fine and Ann his wife had children named John M., James, Christopher, Susan and others. Dr. George Campbell died in Aug 1818 in his 60th year of age. His wife died 14 Feb 1837.s Church, Alexandria twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey about 1760.ptlave., deceased, late of Kingwood twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey sell to Nathaniel Rittenhouse of Kingwood twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey - "Homestead farm of Jeremiah Thatcher in Kingwood twp, Hunterdon Co, New Jersey. Bounded by Mary Arrison's line on NW; Davis Curtis Line Sw and NW; Corner of Luther Opdykes Land SE; Little Rusaqua Brook SE; John Taylor's land and Lorana Allens land NE and William Holliday's land NW - 297 acres". Witness was Moses Thatcher., deceased, late of Hunterdon Co, New Jersey sell to Shadrack Austin. "Jeremiah received land by grant from John Dickenson, Esq., President of executive council of Pennsylvania dated 13 Apr 1784 (Patent Book 1, pg 471). Land is located on westerly side of the NE branch of the Susquehanna River including the mouth of Shickshinning Creek - located in Northampton Co, Pennsylvania". Land sold for $ 670.00
