Flicka
On the television series, Johnny Washbrook played ken. In 1958 Flicka recieved the award of excellence. The shows where based on the story books written by Mary O'Hara which were partly true from her life style on a ranch in that era. Flicka means "little girl" in Swedish. Flickas real name was Wahama. Wahama was a purebred chestnut arabian mare. Wahamas stunt double was a quarter horse type gelding named Goldie.
In the Movies, Flicka has a son named "Thunderhead". Thunderhead came into the movies in "Thunderhead-Sone of Flicka". A different mare was used in the movies, she was still an Arabian though, says Mr. McDowell.
