The fact that Laino got back to the Foo Estate (not to mention managing to get into a riveting game of Chinese Checkers) before Shley did still eludes me. Kee's really not that stupid, but she drifts in and out at times, especially those where she couldn't care less about the situation at hand. Playing games with the janitor wasn't something she focused intently on. And of course, she would have to end up winning, otherwise Laino would be in for some [non-sexual] ass-forking by Shley. The chairs and tables of the Shwaa world are poorly drawn, because a) I don't want my madd art skillz to take away from the characters, and b) because I lack madd art skillz. The vase in panel four is about the closest thing you'll get to a good still-life in this comic... and that's a nutty-looking vase. 'Lain' and 'Laino' are equally acceptable in dialogue. She was orginially 'Lain,' but her name picked up an 'o' somewhere and it stuck. All part of the evolution of the comic. And though RL Laino never ate an entire frozen turkey, she has been known to make hella good baklava. |
