Lea is most well known for her portrayal of Kim in the West End and Broadway hit musical Miss Saigon, for which she received the Laurence Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics' Circle and Tony Awards.  She began her career at the age of seven in Repertory Philippines' production of The King and I, and has since appeared as Annie in Annie, Brigitta in The Sound of Music, Lucy in The Goodbye Girl, Addie in Paper Moon, Luisa in The Fantasticks, Eponine in Les Miserables (in New York, London and briefly with the Third National Tour during its visit to Honolulu), Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, The Witch in Into The Woods (with SRT), and Sandy Dumbrowski in Grease.  She made her US television film debut when she played the role of Geri Riordan in Hallmark Hall of Fame's Redwood Curtain with Jeff Daniels and John Lithgow.

She started her recording career as a child artist with her first album Small Voice, which received a gold record, and made a few more recordings before and in her teens.  She also began hosting her own television show Love,Lea.  While in Miss Saigon, she recorded the singing voice of Jasmine for the Walt Disney animated feature Aladdin, and soon after recorded the role of Tuptim in a new recording of The King and I with Julie Andrews, Ben Kingsley and the Holywood Bowl Orchestra.

Other recordings include her self-titled international debut album with Atlantic Records (gold and platinum in parts of Southeast Asia), a special duet with Peabo Bryson for the People album, and the narrator for a recording of The Nutcracker.  Her voice can also be heard in the Walt Disney animated feature, Mulan, where she was the singing voice for the lead.

Her most recent recordings in the Philippines include two solo albums: Lea... In Love, which was released last year and has since gone quintuple platinum, and a brand new album titled By Heart, which was released last September.

Lea has performed in concert in the Philippines as well as at the Town Hall (New York), The Hollywood Bowl and the Universal Ampitheatre (Los Angeles), and San Francisco Civic Center and Nob Hill Masonic Center (San Francisco). She has opened for such artists as Stevie Wonder and the late Frank Sinatra during their concerts in Manila.  She was chosen to play the role of Eponine in the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and last year returned to London to perform at a special benefit concert called Hey, Mr. Producer at the Lyceum Theatre, sharing the stage with such stars as Bernadette Peters, Jonathan Pryce and Colm Wilkinson.  Earlier this year, Lea returned to Broadway as Kim in Miss Saigon, and just before arriving in Singapore, she was in London to perform at the 10th Anniversary Performance of Miss Saigon.

Adrian has been involved in lots of productions.  He's been not bad in a handful, while in others he's been utter rubbish.  Here are some examples falling randomly into each category.  Theatre work in the UK includes: A MidsummerNight's Dream, The Comedy of Errors, One For The Road, A Christmas Carol, The Mens Womb, The Magic Fundoshi, Hair, Tormented, Privates On Parade, New Territories and Take Away.  Work with SRT includes Into The Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, The Glass Menagerie and the title role in Hamlet.

He's done loads of TV work in the UK, all too inconsequential to mention, with the exception that he got to share a scene with the great Sir Nigel Hawthorne in The Fragile Heart.  In film Adrian has mostly let his various hair "styles" do the acting for him, e.g.: Spiralling ("boufant"), Peggy Su! ("centre-parting"), Yellow Fever ("the Hugh Grant"), Forever Fever ("the Travolta/Bruce Face/Off"), Everybody Loves Sunshine ("George Clooney hair; George Burns face"), Offending Angels ("Austin Powers: the Shag Pile") and Second Generation ("the Glen Goei").

Denise graduated with Honours, in English Literature and Theatre Studies, from the University of Leeds in 1997.

Her UK Musical Theatre credits include the Aquarius Singer in Hair, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors, a Kit Kat Club Girl and part of the "Two Ladies" trio in Cabaret, Sarah Brown in Guys 'N' Dolls and Chava in Fiddler on the Roof (Leeds Music Theatre); Soul Singer in Rock Nativity and the eponymous heroine in Sweet Charity (Leeds Stage Musicals).  Choreography efforts include Rock Nativity, Chess, Sweet Charity and Shakespeare's The Tempest.  Acting credits include Cook in The Ghost Sonata, the Messenger in Howard Barker's Women Beware Women (Strumpet Productions), Lady Nijo in Caryl Churchill's Top Girls and Harold Pinter's MountainLanguage (Lascivious Theatre) both of which were also performed at La Escuela Superior de Artes Dramatica in Murcia, Spain.  Denise's original works include Unbecoming, a devised collaborative performance between four women of colour, and Bo(a)rderline, her critically acclaimed one-woman-show, at Leeds Workshop Theatre.

Back in Singapore, Denise has tread local boards as the cabaret singer in Beauty World (TheatreWorks, 1998), the Electric Geisha in Ka-Ra-you-OK? (Action Theatre, 1998), Nood/Victoria/The Midwife in Chang & Eng (Action Theatre, 1999), the Bride in The Knot (Ingot Arts, 1999), Suzuki/Shu Fang/Comrade Chin in  M. Butterfly (Singapore Repertory Theatre, 1999), Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense (Caldwell Arts in collaboration with the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre of Sarasota, Florida, 1999) and, most recently, as Joanne in Haunted (TheatreWorks).

Denise's television credits include Susie, Rosie's hairdresser in Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd and The Donny Lee Show.  Short film credits include His Name Was Wong, finalist in the 1998 Silver Screen Awards, which she also art directed and Another Guy, Special Achievement Award-winner at the 1999 Silver Screen Awards.

Sesy is an acoomplished, all-around performer of the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company.

Her first theatrical debut was as part of the ensemble in SRT's 1996 production, Sing To The Dawn.  Since then, she has been actively involved in major theatrical productions such as Action Theatre's musical, Chang & Eng, which toured to Beijing.  She also performed as one of the Earth Mothers in TheatreWorks' highly-acclaimed, pan-Asian production, Lear, which toured to Hong Kong, Jakarta, Perth and Singapore.  Sesy's other theatrical credits include Mama Looking For Her Cat and Got to Go Play Till Dawn.

Her film credit includes acting as Sloma in the full-length video produced by 4OurEyes Production, based on The  Necessary Stage's production, Off Centre.

Sesy is also excited and honoured to be working with SRT once again.
 
 

Melanie is a BS Math graduate from the University of the Philippines but has always been a performer at heart.  She has attended acting, dance and voice workshops to further hone her skills.  Her singing and theatrical pursuits have brought her all over the world.  A former member and soloist of the world-renowned University of the Philippines Concert Chorus, Melanie has toured throughout Europe, the US and Canada in 1988 and 1990, representing the Philippines in several international choral competitions and festivals.  Her first musical was Tales of the Manuvu, which they brought on tour in 1988.

Melanie has appeared in several productions with various theatre companies in the Philippines.  She has also done various theatrical shows, concerts, corporate shows, recordings, and TV appearances and commercials.

Melanie's professional musical theatre credits consist mostly of original Filipino musicals and zarzuelas.  Among her memorable stage performances are Susan in Larawan, The Musical, Olivia in the musical excerpts presentation of Katy! for the 100 Performances Buhay Theatre Festival in 1998 and as a member of the elite 16-member theatre ensemble for Ryan, Ryan, the Music Man - A Retrospective: 25 years of Ryan Cayabyab's Music, all with Musical Theatre Philippines.

With Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident theatre company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, she did 16 productions doing various roles as chorus and support lead and was able to visit Japan and Malaysia as cast member in 1993's El Filibusterismo, the Musical Japan tour, 1995's Noli Me Tangere/El Filibusterismo Japan tour and the Malaysia trip to the International Conference on Jose Rizal and the Asian Renaissance.

Full-length musicals in English that she has done so far are Chess, the Musical (Svetlana understudy and ensemble) for New Voice Company and Once On This Island for Chase International.  For Performing Artists International she has done excerpts from West Side Story, South Pacific and Les Miserables.  She was in Music of Alain Boublil and Claude Michel Schoenberg in Concert, also for Chase International.

She is thrilled to be a part of SRT's production of They're Playing Our Song.
 
 

Richard has an extensive resume, which includes stints with just about every performing arts group in Singapore.  As both choreographer and singer, he has performed in may landmark productions. His performance credits include: Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance (STARS/SAF MDC, 1989); Beauty World (TheatreWorks, 1992); The Nutcracker (Singapore Dance Theatre, 1992, 1994 & 1995); SRT's inaugural production, Godspell (1993) and the Nephew in Mortal Sins (TheatreWorks, 1995).

Richard's choreography credits include: Kalu Jodoh Tak Mana Lari (in which he also played the principal role) for Gunung Sayang Association (1996); Miracles, for Singapore General Hospital (1996); Mulau, which he also directed, for the Public Works Department (1998); Chingay 1999 Grand Finale and Guys 'N' Dolls (Toy Factory Theatre, 1999) in which he played Nathan Detroit.

Trained in classical ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre, Richard teaches at Dance Circle Studios.
 
 

Sebastian's performing career began when he joined the SAF Music and Drama Company in 1992.  His civilian theatre credits include: Choices (1989), The Imaginary Invalid (1990), The Taximan Story (1990), Singles (1991), Kampong Amber (1994), Who Shot Mr. Kiasu? (1995), December Rains (1996) and Ka-Ra-you-OK? (1996).  1999 has been a busy year - recent work includes PIE and the lead in Haunted (both for TheatreWorks), Lovepuke for Toy Factory and the lead role in Drama Box's Mr. Beng.

His singing credits include the closing ceremony of the 1993 Southeast Asian Games.

Winner of the 1996 TCS National Mandarin singing contest, Talent Search, Sebastian has recorded a number of theme songs for TCS Channel 8 Mandarin dramas.  One of his recordings, The Price of Peace, won the Best Theme Song at the 1998 Star Awards.  His TV appearances include City-Spy Singapore, City Crimes, My Big Brother, Under One Roof and Growing Up.

Sebastian's work with SRT includes Vichai in Sing To The Dawn (1996) and Matt in The Fantasticks (1997).  He performed at SRT's Gala Benefit Dinner in 1998.
 
 

A Singaporean performer, Gani has a long string of stage experiences and awards under his belt.  He has worked with renowned artists like Glen Goei, Najip ali, Lea Salonga, Jacintha and Dick Lee.  He has appeared in many productions directed by Ong Keng Sen, such as the original cast of Beauty World (1988) as well as its touring cast (1992); Mortal Sins as Time Present (1995); sang the arias in Broken Birds (1994) and the Japanese premiere of Lear, playing the role of the dynamic Retainer.  This inter-cultural, post-modern production also toured to the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Singapore, Jakarta and the Festival of Perth.  Lear also participated in the Berlin International Festival and the Copenhagen International Arts Festival.  Following this, Gani acted in TheatreWorks' latest musical, Haunted, where his performance as Rafiq received outstanding reviews.

A versatile singer and performer, he has appeared in such varied roles as a 70 year-old headman in Kampong Amber (Music and Movement).  SRT's productions in which he has participated include the roles of Jesus Christ in Godspell (1994); Rapunzel's Prince in Into The Woods, with Lea and Adrian (1994) and the voice of Audrey II and Patrick Martin in Little Shop of Horrors (1995), which he also choreographed.  Gani was also the choreographer for SRT's Sing To The Dawn (1996).

A dynamic dancer and choreographer, he has choreographed and performed in many of Singapore's live shows and television extravaganzas.  The most recent was the 1999 National Day Parade, in which he was a featured soloist.

He has also choreographed various plays which incorporate movement and dance, such as The Necessary Stage's latest production of Brainstorm, in which he choreographed Untitled Man Part One, Drama Box's production of Want United People at last year's Arts Festival.

Gani's recent foray as a director saw him participating in TheatreWorks' overnight theatre carnival when he choreographed, wrote, directed and performed a post-modern, quasi-traditional solo piece entitled Invokasion.  He last directed and devised a provocative drama piece for Toy Factory's Made in K.K., Waiting, and co-choreographed and acted the lead role of Sky Masterson in its musical, Guys 'N' Dolls.  Gani also choreographed Toy Factory's latest production of I Have A Date With Spring.
