Meditations on the Glorious Mysteries

I.  The Resurrection

After the death on Calvary came the resurrection on Easter.  Christ, help us to be Easter people, rejoicing in the triumph of Life over death.

Christ, You promised that those who followed your path on calvary would follow you to heaven.  Grant that we may keep our eyes on you and obtain this promise.

Mary, your heart have been overflowing the day you learned that your son had risen.  Pray for us, that our hopes too may be fulfilled.

II.  The Ascenscion

Christ, when Your time on earth was up You left to take Your place at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.  But You did not leave Your Church alone: You promised to be with us always.  Help us to see You in our lives.

We are the members of the Church, Your body here on earth.  Help us to do Your work, spreading the good news to all the world and comforting those who suffer.

We believe that You will return someday, though we know not when.  Help us to prepare for that day, so that we may be ready to meet You at the end of time.

III. The Descent of the Holy Spirit

Father, You are the giver of all good gifts, and on Pentecost You gave the Church the priceless gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us to all truth.  Thank you!

Holy Spirit, You dwell within us. Help us to listen to You as You guide us on the Way to Heaven. Help us to see and appreciate Your work in the Church.

Mary, you were closer to the Holy Spirit than any other human being.  Pray for us, that we may allow the Holy Spirit to work through us for the glory of God.

IV.  The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

God, You keep all Your promises.  You promised the Resurrection to those who trusted You and did Your will, and in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, body and sould into heaven, we see a foretaste of the glory that we may share on the last day.

Mary, pray for us that we may someday join you in Heaven with your Son, Jesus.

Christ, in Your perfect love for Your mother, You wanted her to be with You in Heaven.  Help us to show such love to our parents and to those around us.

V.  Coronation of Mary

God, You are a great artist, and Mary is Your most perfect work.  As we grow in appreciation of her obedience, faithful, and humility, we grow in appreciation of Your glory.

Mary, in your humbleness you reflect the glory of God. Point us towards God now and always.

Mary, you are the mother of all who follow Christ.  Watch over us and pray for us, so that someday we may sing God's praises with you in Heaven.
