Link had saved Hyrule and became a hero, but over time he became restless. He decided to on an adventure, see new places, and go where no one in Hyrule had ever been before. He got a little ship and very few items and set sail. He had not been at sea very long when all of a sudden, a giant storm came. It was very powerful and Link had never seen anything like it before. The shop was falling apart and the storm didn't seem to start calming down any. It didn't look good for Link. Just when he thought it was all lost, a giant flash of lightning struck Links' ship.

Link awoke to find himself in a small house with a young woman next to him. He mistakenly thought it was Princess Zelda, for which she looked much like Zelda. Her name was Marin and she lived with her father Tarin. She explained that he was on Koholint Island. She had found Link on the beach of the island. Link went to talk to Tarin, suprisingly knew Link's name. Link aked him how he knew and Tarin explained that he saw it engraved on Link's shield.

With his shield in his hand, Link walked down to the beach where Marin had found him. There, Link found his sword. When he picked it up, a wise, old owl flew up. He said that he had been curious who it was that owned that sword. The owl explained a little about Koholint Island. It seemed that in the middle of the island, there was a giant egg and legends told that the all-mighty Windfish slept in that egg and that one day a hero would come to awake the Windfish. The owl explained that Link had to awake the Windfish if he ever hoped to leave this island. To awake the Windfish, Link would have to find the eight siren's instruments and play them in front of the egg and the Windfish would awaken. When this happens, Koholint Island would then disappear and Link would leave this island with the Windfish. The eight instruments are hidden in eight caves on the island. Link sets off to find these instruments and awake the Windfish. On his way, Link meets many friends that will help him out on his search.

After finding all the instruments, Link played them in front of the egg and it cracked open. Inside, Link found the nightmares. Many creatures from Link's past that Link was less that happy to see again. There were also some new enemies that Link had never seen before. He then went on to meet the Windfish. Link played and played the instruments over and over until there was a sudden flash of light as Link found himself hanging onto some pieces of his raft. He looked around looking for any signs of Koholint Island, but found none. Had it all been a dream? He suddenly heard a loud noise and looked up to see the Windfish flying overhead. What could all of this mean? Only you can find out!
