The Great Fairies
The six Great Fairies hidden in Hyrule will grant you unique magical powers, including special attacks and powerful spells. All of them are hidden in caves blocked by rocks, so you must have the right equipment to clear each entrance.
         Death Mountain
At the top of Death Mountain, blow up the wall to the left of the entrance to Death Mountain Crater. The Great Fairy inside will grant you a magical spin attack.
         Hyrule Castle
Past the gate guarding the path to Hyrule Castle is a small nook. Bomb the boulder blocking the entrance to meet the Great Fairy inside. She will grant you the magic of Din's Fire.
         Zora's Fountain
Bomb the boulder on the ledge behind Jabu-Jabu. The entire wall behind the boulder will give away, allowing you to enter a cave with a Great Fairy. Her gift is the magic of Farore's Wind.
         Death Mountain Crater
To the left of the shortcut in Goron City, use the Megaton Hammer to break the boulders blocking the entrance. The Great Fairy will double your magic meter.
         Desert Colossus
Look for a suspicious crack on the wall near the Spirit Temple. This Great Fairy will give you Nayru's Love, a spell that forms a protective crystal shield around you for a brief time.
         Ganon's Castle
Once Hyrule Castle has turned into Ganon's Castle, check the same area where you received Din's Fire. Remove the giant boulder blocking the entrance with the Golden Gauntlets. Your final gift from the Great Fairies is stronger defense. All damage you receive is cut in half.

Fairy Gossip
A Red Fairy
Have an empty bottle handy when you discover a Fairy Fountain so you capture them for later use.
A red fairy will fill your health and magic. If you see a green fairy, play the Sun's Song or the Song of Storms.
Try playing different songs on your Ocarina near Gossip Stones.
         Hyrule Field
You will have to use a bomb to remove the boulder blocking the secret grotto in Hyrule Field.
         Graveyard
Pull one of the two gravestones with plants growing in front of it. In the secret grotto you uncover you'll find a small treasure chest. If you blow up the wall behind it, you will also uncover a Fairy Fountain.
         Zora's River
Make your way to the higher ground on the way up to Zora's River. A large boulder can be blowed up to reveal a secret grotto with a Fairy Fountain inside.
         Lost Woods
Climb the ladder at the end of the maze in the Sacred Forest Meadow. From above you will reach a clearing with a secret grotto with a Fairy Fountain inside.
         Zora's Domain
Stand on the platform in the pool of water when you visit Zora's Domain. Play the Song of Storms to reveal a secret grotto leading to a Fairy Fountain.
         Gerudo Fortress
In front of the Gerudo Fortress, play the Song of Storms to reveal a secret grotto. A welcomed Fairy Fountain can be found under the dry ground.
