Our Wedding and Honeymoon

"Don't marry the person you think you can
live with;
marry only the individual you think you
can't live without."
(Dr. James C. Dobson)
We spent the first day in
Vancouver by being lazy in our hotel room. It was a very nice room with a jacuzzi
in it. They even gave us a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate. There was a
card from the Director, congratulating us for the wedding. We were so happy and
so in love with each other. Dennis was really exactly like what I had in mind,
and he also thought that I was exactly like what he dreamed about. He said that
I was really little, smaller than he thought, but he does love me with all his
heart and soul. I have never been so in love before, this is really true love
and I did not hesitate a bit about marrying him. He is the man that I will marry and love for
as long as I live.
The next day we went to the court house to get our
marriage license. They told us that we should go to the vital statistic for it. Everything went well, we got it in just 15 minutes. The
staffs there were really nice and helpful. We went back to the hotel
and Dennis showed me my wedding ring. It was so beautiful, with three little
diamond on it. It was way too big for my finger (I have never wore a ring so I
gave him a wrong size... LOL... ), but it was very pretty. I loved it ! But
then he came with another surprise. He did not bring his wedding ring ! He said
he misplaced it and could not find it when he was about to leave to the airport.
So he decided to leave it and went to catch the plane. As the result, we have to spend the morning of
our wedding day to find him a wedding ring. We found a good one, but it was much
more expensive than the one he bought in USA. But we had no choice, we needed the
ring, so we just bought it.

We moved to our penthouse room in the afternoon. It
was another nice room with kitchen set and another big room with TV and stereo set, and
we got a bedroom with a jacuzzi (this one was even nicer than the previous one
!) and a bathroom with shower. We rested for a while then we prepared for the
wedding ceremony. It was very simple though since we did not have any special wedding
dresses and stuff. I wore a green long dress with white shoes and Dennis wore a
blue shirt with jeans (!!). I have never thought that my wedding would be this
simple, but I loved it anyway ! It was not fancy, it was very private, only the
two of us, but we had so much love in it. That is more than enough !

Exactly at 4 p.m our
marriage commissioner arrived. Diane was a nice lady with grey hair. She greeted us, then she prepared
everything. She was very professional, and very caring too ! She even prepared
where we would stand so we could get good pictures. Then we called the witness
from the hotel, they were two of them: Chris, a western guy, and Kinuko, a
Japanese lady. This was another big 'coincidence' since they really represented
us as Asian-western
couple.
The wedding ceremony went very well. It was very
beautiful with very romantic wedding vows. Dennis was so nervous, but
everything went all right. We exchanged rings and finally Diane announced us as
husband and wife. We kissed, then I burst into tears in Dennis' arms. We were sooo happy ! We were married now !
We spent the next 5 days by having our
simple 'honeymoon'. We didn't plan to have any, so we just called the next days
hanging around in the downtown of Vancouver as "Our Honeymoon". The weather in Vancouver was very nice, a little
bit cold for me, but it was pretty warm for Dennis with temperature around 10
degree Celcius. We went to many beautiful places. We walked along the lake in Stanley Park,
with very beautiful autumn sceneries; we visited Vancouver Aquarium,
we saw otters, whales, and many other sea creatures there; had dinners at
Chinese and Japanese restaurants; watched movies together... It was sooooooo
romantic ! This was truly the greatest weeks in our lives !
