Opened in July 1997, The Arc of Uinta & Lincoln Counties is an affiliated member of The Arc of Wyoming and The Arc of the United States.
When a family first receives the news that their baby or young child has a disability, it can be very bewildering to try and get through the maze of information and offers of assistance. Many of our Arc members are parents who have "been there, done that", and are willing to help others through this trying time.
We offer resources, advocacy, information, and emotional support.
Baffled by the Special Education system and all the regulations? Someone can go to those meetings with you and help you understand and learn what is best for your child.
Are you wondering where to turn to get your child into a pre-school? We can help you find that information, and help you determine what will be most beneficial to your child.
Is your child soon to be 21 years old and out of school? What will happen then? We can help you research programs, employment opportunities, independent living or other activities you might need information about.
The Arc is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We are supported by donations and income from the Thrift Store. NO ONE in our local organization receives any wages. Annual membership fees are $15 for an individual, or $25 for a family membership. We encourage membership in our chapter, but please do not let lack of membership stop you from requesting our assistance if you need it.
