Due to a lack of funding, and the financial inability to pay our affiliation fees to the National chapter, we have had to close this chapter of the Arc. THANK YOU to all who supported and helped us for 10 great years!! After losing our grant funding, The Arc of Uinta and Lincoln Counties opened a thrift store in January of 2002. It is our hope that our chapter will be able to continue with the help of funding from the thrift store. Everyone who helps at the Thrift Store is volunteer, there are no wages being paid at this point. In the future, we hope to use the thrift store as an on the job training site for persons with disabilities. Here, people will learn basic work skills and ethics - coming to work on time, staying with an assigned task, learning to solve problems, getting along with co-workers. With a good foundation of work skills, it is our goal to help persons with disabilities find other employment in the community and become as self-sufficient as possible. Store hours are: Tuesday through Friday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We accept donations of any good usable items - clothing, small appliances, kitchenware, furniture, etc. Our prices are very reasonable, and if you are looking for something in particular, we keep a "wish list" on hand and will call you if it comes in |
