In Summers Past

in summers past

during the summers of '95 and '96, I can never forget how much fun I had during those great days. having sleepovers, and waking up at the break of dawn to jump on my neighbor's trampoline til dark.

When we got hot, we would cross the street to my house and play Pilotwings, and listen to the great band Weezer. Those were the greatest summers of my life, some of the best memories that I'll ever have.

Sometimes I wanna try to run away, to get away
To find that place again and stay
The memories still fresh in my mind
Ill still remember them even after I die.

The trampoline's still there but I lost the drive to use it, see, that’s a part of me that will never be the same. My great memories are no longer realities, I was forced to mature and succeed in life

I live in the future, but won't forget those days, to be carefree and detached from responsibility. But living the past will do me no good, so ill face my future, but won't forget those days.
