Richard, David, Michael, Barb
(Four people in search of a last name)
Otherwise known as The Barb and Michael visit San Francisco.

The Barb in front of Alcatrez (yes, in FRONT, not INSIDE)

San Francisco was in full bloom and
The Barb is standing in front of some lovely fleurs.
(The Barb is majorly into the fleurs)

Michael at the first sports store (foreign territory)
we went to trying to find a San Francisco Giants Mug
for Paul back home.

Michael in downtown SF.
Notice the "Live the Arts" signs in background

The Barb in her natural element
(San Francisco can be really windy!)

Michael at Macy's

Haight/Ashbury is where the start of the hippie movement
(free love, beat poetry etc) happened.

At the entrance to Golden Gate Park.
Notice the bag of Fritos in her hand.

Michael and Richard resting in the botanical gardens.
It was very very hot in the park.

The Barb and Michael at Fountain in the Park

The Japanese Gardens are located within the Park.
Richard took us there for tea.
We sat next to the actress that used to play "Keiko"
in Star Trek DS9 (she was also in Joy Luck Club)

We climbed up this major bridge for this photo.
I have no idea who the child is but he decided he
was gonna be in our photo (and since his mom was looking on,
I couldn't very well toss him over the side).

If you look really hard, you can see Richard
on the "bridge" in this part of the garden.

Michael at the entrace to Chinatown

The Barb at the entrance to Chinatown.
Michael and I went SNAKE and bought a whole bunch
of to-die-for pillow covers.
Also got myself a fancy-dancy shirt.

Michael in front of Richard and Dave's house.
Pretty, isn't it?

The house is located just off the Castro Area

Michael on the cliffs overlooking the public baths that burned down in 1967.

David and Michael

We drove to look at the Golden Gate Bridge from several vantage points.
Here we are at "Land's End". Very cool park
with lots of places to go down closer to the
coast and look at the Bay.

At Land's End. See the Bridge?
Richard, Dave, The Barb

THE BRIDGE. I want to draw your attention to
the tiny tree that is over on the left side of
the photo (on top of the hill just past the bridge)

Close up of the section of the photo
That shows the tree. We went to visit that tree.

Dave, Michael, Richard
Notice that Michael is in a t-shirt
Richard has 3 layers and his winter coat on

Michael in front of the Golden Gate

Our next stop was along the coast to Salsalito (sp?)
We ate at "Music Cafe" overlooking a Marina

The view from our table at Music Cafe

We then drove further up the coast to Tiberon(sp?)
The Barb, Richard and Dave.

That's Angel Island in the Background (next time)

We headed back after lovely lunches and teas
Now we're on the hill where the tree lives
Notice how much bigger the bridge is in the background

The Tree! (Look closely, The Barb is in it)

Michael and David monkeying around in the tree

We crossed back over the bridge and went to
The Palace of Fine Arts. This place is a lovely park
with three gorgeous classical style structures scattered
Among the trees, little lake and flowers. A gorgeous place
to spend an afternoon.

Notice the "weeping ladies" at the top

The Barb and Dave

Another structure

The Barb in front of the Pavilion and Lake
There are swans and ducks in the lake

The Barb

The Barb climbed up one of the walls
(She wasn't supposed to do that)
to get this particular shot. The next picture
shows the larger perspective of where she climbed to

The bigger context. If you look closely,
The Barb is somewhere in the middle

A photo of one of the walk ways.
It's much larger than it looks

Michael plunked down in the same walkway
Kinda gives some perspective on the size, eh?

More perspective. Those columns are huge

More Photos to Come. Michael still has one more roll to develop!
