| So what's The Bum spinning nowadays...?..sod all at the moment as the cd players in both my car and house have bitten it recently! Sprint PCS to the rescue! I recently purchased a wicked little device know as the "UPROAR"..a cell phone which also doubles as an MP3 player,storing around 90 mins of fave tunes which can be stored on and downloaded from this very pc! However, up until last week, these are the essential examples of ear candy that I recommend you gorge yourselves silly with.Now some people will tell you that I'm a little self centered and oppinionated when It comes to music....bollox! I do admitt to having a 'holier than though' attitude (see above)..,but I won't stear you far wrong kiddies..I know what I like and I know what YOU SHOULD LIKE.Amen. |
| DAFT PUNK(DISCOVERY)Stand out tracks "One more time','Aerodynamic'..not bad for a pair of clueless Frogs,definately the best dance cd of the summer,Im particularly impressed with the fact these guys have come to terms with the fact they are pig ugly and therefore dress up as robots and have Anime style videos. GRANDADDY(THE SOPHTWARE SLUMP)Stand out track'He's simple,he's dumb,he's the pilot'...I was shocked to find out these lads were American as their sound is SO anti- anything else that's going on here(Thank you GOD!)Saw them live recently here in town and they were great..I think this lot are really the illegitimate child of Radiohead and ELO,but the thought of Thom York and Jeff Lynn on the job kind of makes me want to puke! I LOVE this track and the cd has a cool vibe! Which is a great segue into.. |
| RADIOHEAD(AMNESIAC)Stand out tracks 'Pyramid Song','Pact like sardines in a crushd tin box'..Lets end the debate now...yes its better than Kid A..Pyramid is one of the most erotic songs ever recorded even though it seems to be about suicide??!..I was upset that some of these tracks didnt end up on Kid A,as they've been knocking around for a while...If ONLY they could have put "Everything in its right place" and 'Optimistic' on this album..I would have died a happy man!...Blinding all the same...Just lay back,think of England and let Thom give you some incredible Radio- HEAD! |
| AIR(10,000 Hz Legend) No standout tracks thus far..I'll over look the fact that they are French because of 'Moon Safari'..a far better showing . Voulez- vouz donnez-moi my $15 back s'il vous plait! FLICKERSTICK(Welcoming Home The Astronaughts) Stand out tracks 'Beautiful','Directline to the Telepathic'...yes..Its the band on that VH1 show who were obviously going to win because. 1..They shagged everything that moved which=RATINGS, and 2..The other bands were UTTER SHITE! Honestly though,I saw them live and they were incredible! This cd doesnt EVEN do them justice..plus it doesn't contain my fave Flicker track..'Smile'.Still worth getting..go to my LINKS page to order. |
| THE CULT(Beyond Good And Evil)Standout track 'RISE'.They're at it again aren't they,bless them.Phenomenal come back album! I only just bought RARE CULT their re-issue box set when this gem appeared on the shelves.Jeff(HUE'S bass player) and I saw them live a month or two ago and BOTH left with the oppinion that Ian Astbury IS THE greatest front man in rock n' roll.PERIOD! Matt is back on drums thanks to Axl being such a twat.By far the best British rock cd of the millenium so far! SOO much harder than prior efforts.. COLDPLAY (PARACHUTES)Standout tracks'HIGH SPEED','EVERY THING'S NOT LOST'....ok, ok..and 'YELLOW'.My ex disliked this so much when it was released, she gave me her copy,for which I am eternally greatful..however after the 'force feeding' of Yellow for the past year, she's eating her words!! This album sends me to a better place..mellow grooves, great production, crap live ..but oh, well, we can't all be HUE boys can we? The guitar work is at times, inspired(probably by really GOOD weed), but the vibe is,so far this century, unequaled! ...except, of course by....... HUE (HUE) Standout tracks...EVERY ONE!!!!! Ok.!! Ok!! So I'm a little bias..if you can't tell by now that I'm heavily into A,Myself and B,Shameless promotion of myself...then you haven't been paying attention!!! Actually..it really is a brilliant album,or so I'm told by my legions of sycophants...some have compared us to Radiohead meets Oasis meets ELO meets Queen.Some havent.
