Get-a-Clue 2000

The Introduction was, ironically, the last major block of text to be written for the OHDaMN.  (Well, a lot of reference section five still had to be assembled, but not much of that was actually written).  Obviously, the late date of its composition is the primary reason the tone of the intro is so sarcastic.

Introduction

Hello and Welcome to the year 2000 edition of that perennial favorite, Get-a-Clue.

We here at game Control have worked hard to provide you with what can only be termed an experience.  Good or Bad, we can't say, but the experience should be memorable either way.  Some of us have worked harder than others, some of us have worked much harder than we would have chosen to if left to our own devices, and some of us were forced to write the manual introduction (indeed, forced to write much of the OHDaMN) with only a limited amount of time and a limited supply of beer.  No, Matt is not bitter.

This is your Game Manual.  It has everything you need to play today's game.  Well, it doesn't have a car in it, but those things are rather singularly hard to photocopy.  That is to say, this game manual should have all the information in it that you might need to reference while playing the game.  You need to bring a certain amount of education and raw intelligence with you, in order to better solve the clues, but when it comes to helping you pass the time while travelling from clue site to clue site we should have you covered.  Articles are included on driving, the metro Atlanta area, how to get along with your teammates, and some fun facts and trivia to help ease the boredom of today's long and mostly circular road trip.

This manual also includes the Official Rules and some other purely technical stuff.  But of course you read that while it was still posted on the web page.

We here at Game Control will be keeping track of your progress.  Now, don't tell the other teams this, but we're rooting for YOU, in particular, and we hope you win today and show all those losers how Get-a-Clue is played.  So go out there and have fun, or the most reasonable facsimile of fun that you can manage, and know that you are going to win whether you wnat to or not.

Good Luck!
