The Off-Road Driving Guidelines for 4WD were adapted from some very similar information provided in the driver's manual for my 1987 Chevy S-10 Pickup.  The article was included mostly to make people wonder about the clue sites we'd be sending them out to.  The information was accurate and not at all humorous; the joke was that we included it in the first place.  If you are seriously interested in off-road driving, try looking at some of the links here.
