Snow Joke

Poem by Ann Pass

Well, I went out to get some
I tried the Co-op, and Kwiksave too
I tried Devonmarket, Freezer shop
Oh, dear, what a to-do!
I even tried the papershop
Now that was my last resort
But no matter where I went
There was simply none to be bought
I didn't know it was so precious
That it was so much in demand
It's always been there in the shop
So on it I can put my hand
But it wasn't there today
Not a bit of it to be had
I'll just have keep on slipping
Ah well, that's just too bad!
So next time you think it's going to snow
Don't come to a halt
Go to the shops like everyone else
And buy a load of salt.
