Tribute to Star Trek
Poem by Ann Pass
I'm mad on Star Trek
It drives my mum crazy
She says she can't stand it anymore
It's making her head go hazy.
I love the actors in the films:
Spock, Bones, and not forgetting Kirk
Then there's Chekov, and Scotty too,
in the engine room to lurk. The staging of the films is brilliant!
The Reliant, and The Enterprise,
then the Klingons in their ships;
It's great how each one flies.
The storylines are great too!
It keeps you glued to your TV.
They fight until their battle's won,
until everyone is free. Now number 1, "The Motion Picture"
is not all that fast.
It's about a machine sent from Earth
300 years in the past.
It works out fine though
When its Maker it does meet
But two of the Enterprise in the price
are swept clean off their feet.Number 2, "The Wrath of Khan"
is all about the Genesis Project.
The man called Khan
is definitely the film's defect
the only thing is that in the end
Spock dies, from a radiation leak.
They send him to the Genesis Planet
to be born again, so mild and meek. Then there's number 3, "The Search for Spock"
it's a run up of number 2;
They have to go and fetch Spock,
also fighting Klingons, their evils to do.
The Klingons get to Spock first
and the planet starts to diminish,
the Enterprise is blown up
and Kirk thinks it's the finish.
They escape in a Klingon vessel
and Spock they do find,
but Kirk's son is killed though
and his body's left behind. Now number 4, "The Voyage Home"
is about a probe that passes by.
It disrupts the Earth in search of whale
and back in Time they have to fly.
To return to the Future with two whales
is a hard task for Kirk and crew,
but no matter what they do
they return with two whales
and they send the probe away,
and thanks to Kirk and his crew
Earth lives to see another day.The last, number 5, "The Final Frontier"
God is who they search for
to seek the truth in Heaven
and see if they will live forevermore
but having found the planet
to which they had been led
they find a false God
and no knowledge is said. There have only been 5 films
made with the same cast
but I hope they make a 6th
and I hope they make it fast!
To finish the Star Trek Poem off
I'll tell you the line I adore
it's the line on any Star Trek fan's lips:
To Boldy Go Where No Man Has Gone Before.
