B.E.S.T.

"Bentilee Exchange Skills Together" (B.E.S.T.) is an arts and crafts group for the over 55s (though I know of one or two younger that go to it).

Activities include painting, knitting (with a machine), general 'making things' (e.g. for sale at their craft fayres), and even the chance to use an electronic keyboard to produce hi-tech muusic (or a synthetic version of 'real' music).

The group runs from about 10a.m. to 4p.m. and includes the chance of lunch (for a modest donation).

B.E.S.T. is indeed aptly named (being one of the best ideas of the Bentilee Volunteers & Neighbourhood Project -- next to St. Paul's Lunch Club for pensioners), and I have no reservations in recommending it.
