Building blocks of the universe |
Something that occupies space and can be perceived by one or more senses; a physical body, a physical substance, or the universe as a whole. Matter is made up of liquids, gases and solids. Also the more unique details in matter and there elements such as carbon or oxygen. Matter can also go through many states and these are called phase changes. |
Gas |
Solid |
Liquid |
The definition of gas is the state of matter distinguished from the solid and liquid states by relatively low density and viscosity, relatively great expansion and contraction with changes in pressure and temperature, the ability to diffuse readily, and the spontaneous tendency to become distributed uniformly throughout any container. Also gas is also shown and described when you may see a graphic of the particles in the mater spread apart which would mean it is non like a solid where they tightly compacted but loose which identifies the graphic as a gas. |
A solid is of definite shape and volume; not liquid or gaseous. Firm or compact in substance. Some examples of a solid would be steel , gold , a table a book and anything else that his firm and hard. Also take note that a solid would have its particles close and tightly together to show that it is indeed a solid. |
A liquid is the state of matter in which a substance exhibits a characteristic readiness to flow, little or no tendency to disperse, and relatively high incompressibility. Some examples of a liquid is Pepsi , water , and other things we would drink.. Except for liquids such as lava or other non or dangerous things. If you cant picture any of these just imagine the ocean and there’s your liquid. |
