GREECE I moved to Greece in 1991 and currently have a Greek nationality, due to my grandfather being Greek. I went to a Greek public school and got to know my neiborhood well, having lived in the same place for more than 10 years. Over my 13 years in Greece I have watched old buildings give space for larger buildings, new hospitals, new roads, new services and much more. I find that I can orientate very well anywhere in Athens, however I cannot even remember the street name perpendicular to my address. Other than Athens, I have visited many other places all over Greece, including many archaeological sites and many, many Greek islands. Greece, being in the mediterranean, is known to be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, making it one of the best countries anyone could ever live in. Greek people are known for their hospitality, for their laid back lifestyle and for getting things done at the last momment, which I have most definitely inherited. Following the Olympic games, Athens is a whole different city. The many new projects undertaken by the government have transformed the city into a modern European capital which it was, and have prepared it for the great years to come. One of my favourite quotes say: "Greeks don't fight like heroes, heroes fight like Greeks". |
