VII. Star Wars - Historical Predictions for Episode II
This complete prediction as of April 15, 2000
Opening Scroll:
The opening scroll will include three major points.
1 - After Yoda completed Obi-Wan's training and assisted with Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi is now training Anakin on Tatooine.
2 - The Galactic Senate is debating what action to take against the recent escalations of the Clone Wars.
3 - Chancellor Palpatine has attempted to return order to the Galaxy by declaring himself Emperor, and assembling an Imperial Navy to keep order. {S}
Opening Scene:
Emperor Palpatine's ship will be flying in to Coruscant in the opening shot. The opening scene will be in the Senate. There will be heated discussions about the Clone Wars, which have been going on for years, but have been limited to remote planets. Bail Organa of Alderaan and Mon Mothma will be key speakers in the debates. The Senate will eventually decide that the Jedi should get involved.
At first, Obi-Wan and Anakin will not join the battle. They will be on Tatooine, training and attempting to save Anakin's Mom. There will be a small group of people there to be Anakin's 'family'. They will stay with Obi-Wan's brother Owen Lars. Amidala will be with them because she has fallen in love with Anakin. They will attempt to negotiate for Shmi's release between sessions, but the Hutt that won her from Watto will not release her. Anakin will be forced to seek comfort with Amidala after their failed negotiations. {S}
Meanwhile, we meet a new character named Aurra Sing who is plotting to get revenge on Ki-Adi-Mundi, a member of the Jedi Council. In the first scenes, we will probably be shown what cool things she can do, and learn some of her plans. She will also be on Tatooine, and will be mentoring Kitster, a teen-aged former slave from Mos Espa, and former friend of Anakin Skywalker.{S}
We will then catch some of the early escalation of the Clone Wars, which will spread to several planets. The Jedi will merely be moderators at this point. We will see some of the fighting, possibly on a planet we are familiar with, but it will have little importance to our main characters at this point.
Back on Tatooine, Obi-Wan and Anakin will receive word of the Jedi involvement and escalation, and Anakin will become frustrated at their lack of progress regarding his Mom. His agressive tendencies may begin to show during training.
We are now more than halfway through the movie, and Aurra Sing will likely find her intended target, Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi, who has now been forced to fight in the Clone Wars to protect Naboo. There will be several groups of Jedi and Padawan, spread throughout the galaxy, leading different armies. Under fierce attack from Aurra Sing, Ki-Adi-Mundi will be forced to leave the battle to defend himself. {S}
On other planets, Mace Windu, Adi Gallia, and Yoda lead armies in battle as the Mandelorians spread throughout the galaxy in alarming numbers. The armies will no doubt be aided by Darth Sidious. The fighting is fast and fierce, and the special effects are amazing. {S}
Obi-Wan and Anakin are called away to join the Jedi and Bail Organa's small armies on Alderaan. Owen Lars will try to persuade Anakin not to go, but in the end, Obi-Wan and Amidala will persuade him to leave his Mom and Amidala and go to Alderaan. After a passionate kiss, Anakin leaves his Queen in a 'safe' place with Owen on Tatooine. {S}
Now we are closing in on the final battles. There are 3 battles at this point.
Naboo- Ki-Adi-Mundi is battling Aurra Sing and her protege. With the distraction of their leader (Ki-Adi-Mundi) on Naboo, the good guys begin to lose ground there. Much damage is done to the capital city of Theed.
Alderaan- The Jedi, including Obi-Wan and Anakin, are battling. Obi-Wan Kenobi is fighting valiantly, with Anakin at his side, doing equally as well. {S}
Soon, it is apparent that Naboo is lost. The city is nearly rubble, and the countryside has been torn to shreds. The good guys begin to retreat. It is also soon apparent that they will be triumphant at Alderaan. The Mandelorians suddenly begin an assault on Tatooine.
There are few soldiers on Tatooine, so some of the armies from Naboo, Alderaan, and the other planet are sent to Tatooine to defend. Anakin quickly runs to save his loved ones, but Obi-Wan does not join him. {S}
He starts with Amidala and Owen, who are outside of the battle. Amidala insists on joining Anakin in his quest to save his Mom. The fear and anger inside of him make him powerful in his attack, and thus he is "a great and feared comander of an army", and in his mind, he is there to free the slaves.
The battle for the third planet rages on, but the Jedi are beginning to lose control. Their army is unfocused, and loses many battles. The Jedi are suddenly surrounded by enemies, and all seems lost. On Naboo, the battle is lost. Amidst the chaos of the fleeing soldiers, Ki-Adi-Mundi loses his focus and is slain by Aurra Sing. All appears lost.
When the fleeing soldiers see the death of their Jedi saviour, they attack Aurra Sing seeking vengeance. The young protege sees these events unfolding and is fearful for his life. He finds a slain Mandelorian and disguises himself in the battle-scarred Mandelorian Armor. With this disguise, he is able to escape unharmed. {S}
Anakin inspires his army, and they are completely successful on Tatooine, making ground quickly. Anakin uses his anger to make him powerful in battle. When he breaks away, he finds his mom smiling and running to him with open arms. Just as he is nearing her, a group of enemies ambushes them, and his mother is killed. John Williams tragedy music crescendos. All appears lost. {S}
With the battle on Alderaan well in hand, the Jedi, including Obi-Wan, head to Tatooine to assist in the fight. On the third planet, the Jedi find a way to use their powers to escape their predicament, and the momentum shifts suddenly in their favor.
On Tatooine, Anakin, in a fit of rage and desperation, wipes out the ambushing group of enemies single-handedly while the rest of the army defeats Darth Sidious' army. Obi-Wan finds Owen, then Amidala, and finally Anakin, who is holding his dead mother in his arms while he weeps. Anakin turns to the group with a defensive, angry stare that makes them uneasy. Amidala runs to his side, and her touch softens him, and all is soon well. {S}
They all return to Alderaan to celebrate the victory, receive honors, and attend the gargantuan wedding of Anakin and Amidala. Sudden shift to a starscape, John Williams music rises, and the credits roll. {S}

A few other details I've come to believe...
Boba Fett should appear in Episode 2, so I think Aurra Sing will be mentoring the young Boba Fett. He will travel with his mentor to the Clone Wars, where he will find Mandelorian armor on the battlefield. He seems to be a sneaky character, so I am guessing that after the death of Ki-Adi-Mundi, some other Jedi wreak havoc on Aurra Sing, and Boba Fett uses the armor as a disguise to escape unnoticed.
I left out two important sections of the opening scroll, as well. The scroll must inform us that the group has been stationed on Tatooine, and that the Clone Wars have been slowly growing over the years until the Senate is forced to deal with it directly.
March 24, 2000 (Original full prediction)
I've had some time to do some real thinking about this. I've listened to the predictions of other fans (some who know much more than me!), and I have finally formed some predictions:
I feel in my heart that the opening scene will be on Coruscant. We know that there will be much turmoil soon on Coruscant, because Supreme Chancellor Palpatine will declare himself Emperor soon after he is elected. Episode 2 will be set 10 years after Episode 1, so my guess is that part of the opening scroll will be about Palpatine declaring himself Emperor.
Since every opening shot has begun in space, I am guessing that Emperor Palpatine's ship will be flying in to Coruscant in the opening shot. The opening scene will be heated discussions about the Clone Wars, which have been going on for years, but have been limited to remote planets. They will eventually decide that the Jedi should get involved. Bail Organa of Alderaan and Mon Mothma will be key speakers in the debates.

We will then catch some of the early escalation of the Clone Wars. Although there's nothing really to back this up, I believe the wars will spread to several planets.

After a passionate kiss, Anakin leaves his Queen in a 'safe' place with Owen on Tatooine. Owen and Amidala may be the source of some future tension for Anakin.
Now we are closing in on the final battles. Ki-Adi-Mundi is battling Aurra Sing on Naboo. The Jedi, including Obi-Wan and Anakin, are battling on Alderaan, Naboo, and at least one other planet. With the distraction of their leader (Ki-Adi-Mundi) on Naboo, the good guys begin to lose ground on Naboo. Much damage is done to the capital city of Theed. On the other planet, the battle is a draw at this point. On Alderaan, Obi-Wan Kenobi is fighting ferociously, with Anakin at his side, doing equally as well.
