Clouds in my eyes
(dedicated to Alanis)
May, 20, 2001
I sit on the floor, legs crossed
My eyes open and see my mind
As the sky above, filter of light
Where a billion stars shine at night
Where the reality comes from in the day
Inside out they say
You can turn it inside out
And see the light and where it comes from
You can see what it shows, what it hits
Your mind is the sky
The light hits you
You can clear the clouds
There's always a place on Earth
Where the light flows free
You can move, there's light everywhere
Clouds are in your mind
Like a grain of dust on your focus
Feel free to focus on what you wish
The world you know will crumble
If you suddenly quit from staring
At this cloud you've been staring at for eons
And put your eyes an inch further
You feel old and rusted now, don't you ?
When you realize it's so hard to do
So hard to find and keep the new focus
Where's this easiness they talk about ?
Why does your cloud keep following you ?
Why does your mind keep playing this trick on you ?
Well, it depends on you for its existence
It's fascinated by you, by being seen by you
The cloud adores you for giving it so much focus
It feeds itself on your own attention
Just stop looking at it
And feel free
The light is flowing at no speed
Not from here to there but everywhere
Here and Now, just free here and now.
