Released in late 2001, this documents our involvement with the Melbourne underground film scene, mainly the Melbourne Super 8 Group, which dissolved around 2000 and morphed into a clutch of film-making enthusiasts called Moving Image Coalition. Stu spliced together a big bunch of Super8 footage from many years past, called it "Resonance" & the BrassBed played live to the projection of the film, twice. At both these events the bands played the set like one long song. The results were luckily recorded & appear as this special album.
We were in our soundtracking stage, wanting to get away from straight songs, so we played all the songs without vocals, stringing them together & improvising on top until the film ended.
At the first showing at Sun Theatre, Yarraville, none of the BrassBed could make it, so Stu recruited Tom Carlyon(from Luxedo) for bass & Dan Kelly for drums/drum machine.
At the 2nd event, there was the full 5-piece band of the time, it was filmed & recorded to live to CD. The band was Stu(various stuff), Del(drums), TP(bone), Tim Hilton(bone) & Cam McAllister(horn). It was Del's last BrassBed gig before leaving Australia to get married in NZ and finally land in Switzerland to live. BrassBed have been involved further with film-makers from MIC, in the making of a DVD of 16 films for the "Save Your Breath" album.
