Arette was out of the Tower for the first time since her arrival there 21 years earlier and heading to Baerlon to her nephew´s weddings when she met Swaniana of Red Ajah, leader of the novice search, in Caemlyn. She decided to join her and after the weddings met her in Tear. When the party was sneaking through Amadicia, Arette noticed a common urgent sign of eyes and ears. After hearing the message, she ordered Martha Almindhra (mother of Brownyn Almindhra, a Grey sister) to send copies of her messages to her also. The party found four novices: Eleanor al´Raim (Andor), Myrlindra Altuorah (Far Madding), Taracia Starwind (Illian) and Glenda Arawin, daughter of Arette´s foster sister (Andor).

Arette has two NPC eyes & ears: Liesa Burkits, an innkeeper of Golden Rabbit in Tar Valon and Hevelia Neres, a librarian in Caemlyn. Martha is long dead.
When Arette came to Tower, she was very shy and had a really low self-confidence. She didn´t make any friends, but the feeling of channeling and learning boosted her courage and strenght of character needed to become Aes Sedai. She was very stiff as an initiate and never broked a rule or pranked. She is still a little restricted and rather listens and watches carefully before intervening anything. Mostly she spends her time in library or conversing with her Ajah sisters. She gets really excited and is on her best when she teaches. She has taught history of AS since her Acceptedhood, and now also has a class of Earth weaves.
