Mama writes, quoting, "The Lord bless you and keep you."-- Numbers 6:29.
Ruth writes, Mama wants her daughter Ruth to write for her so here goes as Papa Stadem used to often write.--ha.
Mama: "Thank you very much for your letter received yesterday Nov. 26th. I thank the Lord that He has given me good health. I take 2 little pills a day for fluid in my body. I take 3 herb-lax every morning, Vitamin C tablets and a [name is unreadable and sounds horrible!--Ed.] liquid medicine--two tsp. a day. I take potassium in grape juice three times a day with my meals. The pills take the potassium out so I need this, also bananas. I sleep real good and make trips to the bathroom without waking Tom and Ruth. I go to bed at 8 and wake at 8 a.m. Ruth and I attended services at Bethel Luth. Brethren Church at Antler (22 miles east) today. It was Pastor G. Solheim's 25th anniversary in the ministry. Took part in the program singing, 'Lord give me a vision.' Enjoyed seeing many people. They love the Lord as I do."
Ruth speaking: One lady told me Mama hummed straight through the whole duet perfectly. It is so wonderful, Cora, to hear about Carmon age 14 who is coming to church to learn of Christ the Victor. Praise God!!
Mama [I think this is from her--Ed]: "Bernice sent me a large table cloth to embroider with daisies. It will keep me busy all winter I think.
Ruth is sending pillow cases made for you through Calvin and Gwen. It was given them this summer.
Almost every day we go to the Border Cafe for coffee." Ruth: I asked Mama what to write. She says: "I don't think I got anything special"--ha. I have a good appetite and I like potatoes the best. Leroy and Eliz. gave me lefse for Christmas and they went like hotcakes."
Ruth: A week ago tonight we met Elizabeth and Leroy in Minot on their way to Bimiji to see Steve and Tanya. They then went on their way to Mps. to Pete's apartment and to see Tim who is at the Seminary. Believe Tom and Mary came too. Tom is at Augie in Sioux Falls and Mary at Luther.
Mama writes: "They are 'aal' so good to me. They take me to church in Sherwood and Minot. I love to hear God's words, 'Be strong and of good courage, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.' 'I can do all things in Him, Christ who strengthens me.' 'I will never fail you nor forsake you.' 'The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'--Heb. 13:5b. A blessed Christmas to you, my loved ones in Brazil. I am praying for you. Love, Mama Stadem.
Ruth: P.S. 8:30.
Just put Mama to bed, read to her, "He that believeth in me shall never die." Mama said happily, "It's a wonder."
Love, Ruth and Family
