What a shame !! Our club reaches for the
first time the premier league. After a
great
season in the 2nd Division, four clubs
reaching the 1st Division, among them the
Burgos CF: Betis 53 points, Burgos,
Deportivo Coruña and Córdoba with 45.
That was a tipical formation: Bilbao;
Aramburuzabala, Astorga, Raúl; Alcorta
I, Ederra; Arráiz, Olalde, Mendiolea,
Requejo, Angelín.71-72 &
72-73 season
two seasons between the greatests
clubs in Spain. The first we could
mantain the division
but the second doesn´t resist and
returned to the 2nd Division.
Players of that time were names as:
Bilbao; Capón, Astorga, Raúl; Benegas,
Ederra; Angelín, Jacquet, Aitor Aguirre,
Olalde y Requejo.
Now, 3
seasons in the 2nd Division with the
president Mr. Jose Luis Preciado leaving
the club in 1974.
But in 1975-76 you know
that great times awaited our club as he
makes a sensational
campaing winning the division. A typical
formation: Manzanedo; Gómez, Ruiz
Igartua, Palmer; Aguilera, Kresic;
Juanito, Valdés, Viteri, Ferrero, Quini.
The final results: 1º Burgos 51 points
,2º Celta 49, 3º Málaga 47, Valladolid
43, Coruña 42, Barcelona At. 41,
Tenerife 40, Córdoba 38, Huelva 36,
Castellón 36, Calvo Sotelo 36,
Rayo V. 36, Cádiz 35, S.Andrés 35,
Alavés 34, Tarrasa 34, Murcia 33,
Ensidesa 33, Osasuna 33, G.Tarragona 28.

Here you
can see the 3 best players of the 1976-77
season in the 1st Division: the
goalkeeper Manzanedo,
the midfielder from the former Yugoslavia
Sergio Kresic, and
the famous striker Juan Gomez "Juanito",
without doubt the best spanish player of
that
time, that soon was transferred to the Real
Madrid.
Were 4 amazing seasons in the
1st league with great players and great
matches against
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ath. Bilbao, At.
Madrid ....

This is a
beautiful photo of the beginning of the 1980-81
season. After sell each season after
each season the best players to get money
and equilibrate the economic matters, in
this season
the club fall into the 2nd Division.
And the worst are to came. After two
seasons in the 2nd division with poor
attendances at the
El Plantio stadium, the debts of the club
were used by the Spanish Federation to
make a
punition to the club that consisted in go
back again to the 2nd B Division.
This was a very hard damage for the club
that not resist the bankrupcy and the
summer of
1983 was disolved. The
club dissapear and all the debts.
