The official rules of Bisket Ball
Game description
2 or more teams try to get control of the basket ball and place it into a milk crate on the back of a bicycle riden by either a team mate or an oposing team member.
Equipment
- A bicycle that has a stolen milk crate zap strapped to the rat trap.
- A basket ball, preferably a Macgregor.
- A meat helmet or one of greater protection value.
- Optional knee and elbow pads.
Starting a game
- Divide the players in to 2 or more teams.
- There needs to be at least 4 people to play.
- Set the bicycle against a wall.
- Each person will stand 15 feet away and do a free throw. Teams with less people will do extra free throws.
- Which ever team scores the most free throws gets one point and one member of their team will ride the bike first.
- In the event of a tie for first, the tied teams will free throw again until their is a clear winner.
Riding the bicycle
- The bicycle rider may wear the helmet.
- The bicycle must not leave a set area.
- The bicycle rider must keep both hands on the handle bars, and both feet on the pedals.
- If the bicycle leaves the set area all opposing teams get 1 free throw.
- If the rider touches the ground, all opposing teams get 1 free throw.
- The bicycle has the right of way.
- To start play the bicycle rider will throw the ball straight up while riding through the other players.
Scoring a point
- Place or throw the basket ball into the milk crate on the back of the bicycle. If the ball does not bounce out, your team has scored a point. The scorer of the point must ride the bicycle next.
Ending a game
- The players shake hands, the losing teams must make the winning teams a card or plaque or trophy.
Players
- Players can only take N steps with the ball, to promote passing.
- They must dribble while stepping.
- After the N steps they may pivot on one foot.
- The number of steps is desided by the number of players and the playing area. eg. in a 10m * 12m parking lot full of moving and parked cars and two teams of 3 we used 4 steps.
Glossary
- Bisket Ball: A fun game.
- Player: A person who is part of a team and is not the rider.
- Rider: A person who is part of a team and is riding the bicycle.
- Point: A successful score in the basket.
- Team: A group of players and maybe a rider who work together to score points.
