| The Clow Book was created over 10,000 years ago by the sorcerer, Clow Reed when he learned how to harness the powers of nature. However, the powers became destructive and he locked them up inside Clow Cards and the Clow Book. The Clow Book lay hidden for thousands of years after Clow Reed's death, untill it was dicovered by Sakura's father, Aiden Avalon who was an archeologist. Because he did not posess the magic required to open the Clow Book, it collected dust on his basement bookshelf for years. But when his daughter, Sakura Avalon, ventured down in the basement one day, the Clow Book was opened once more. Once open, a great gust of wind scattered the Clow Cards everywhere, and Kero-Beros, the Guardian Beast of the Seal, climbed out of the book. Sakura had to sign a contract saying that she would capture and return all fifty-two Clow Cards before they destroyed the world. Sakura was now a Cardcaptor. |
