Our Nation buckled in pain today as we watched with horror our people die, our buildings burn, and our lives change. We shed a tear and mourned the loss of heroes, of innocent civilians, of warriors. If our generation ever needed a catalyst to pull us together, to unite us in a common march, to lead us into battle, somebody just provided one live and in color.
This is not a time to dwell on the inequalities of our foreign neighbors or back down in the face of humanitarianism. The time has come for America to dry its eyes and once again flex its might, to stand tall and proud as that bright beacon of freedom. The time has come to rise up, shake a fist and let that quiet, unyielding anger out in a collective scream. Somebody has stranded me in hotel in Chicago, made my wife cry, killed tens of thousands of my fellow Americans, and wiped two of the greatest symbols of American might off the face of the planet. Take it personally. Get mad. Get even. It's time to be proud to be American.
