Jeff Captures Record Fourth Lobsterfest
After going low on Saturday with a net 63, Jeff held on for his fourth title in the spring classic. The overnight lead was two strokes over Scott K. and six strokes over a competitive middle of the pack, but despite strong charges from John, Bob and Scott B., Jeff's net par Sunday round held up for a two stroke victory. The 135 total is six strokes off the record, but the 2001 title adds to his wins in 1995, 1996 and 1999. Congratulations Jeff.
Mother Nature smiled on the tournament with a soggy but rain-free first round, and Sunday produced perfect golf weather with sunny skies and a cool breeze. A warm afternoon sun made the cold Upper Lansdowne beer taste extra good and took some of the sting out of the early finishers' feet. The debate over Feast arrangements raged on, but produced no concensus and ultimately no Feast. The Lobsterfest Committee has its work cut out for 2002. Stay tuned!
