As an executive officer and a active member in the CMGC, I would like to point out that contrary to what is on the website, not everyone agrees "everyone who rides has a distinct advantage." If this is true then I believe that when I walk, everyone has a distinct advantage over myself because of my knee. I enjoy walking when I play golf and do so 90% of the time when the terrain permits, and will probably walk the Phoenix. But if it were a hilly course I would ride. A penalty of "Two strokes a side" which may be a catchy phrase, I think is unfair. Walk in my shoes (or with my knee) and tell me how you feel after a round. Also unlike the PGA tour, everyone in the CMGC has the option to ride. In closing, I'm not sure why the CMGC is having a tournament at a course which has no slope rating (a long standing CMGC tradition). I am not mad nor am I trying to offend anyone, this is just my opinion and observances.
