Hodie Christus natus est

Hodie Christus natus est,
hodie salvator apparuit,
hodie in terra canunt angeli,
laetantur archangeli,
hodie exultant justi, dicentes:
gloria in excelsis Deo,
alleluia.
Today Christ is born,
today the savior appears,
today angels sing on earth,
archangels rejoice,
today the just exult, saying:
Glory to God in the highest,
alleluia.

Rorate caeli

Rorate caeli de super,
et nubes pluant justum:
aperiatur terra,
et germinet salvatorem.
Ostende nobis, Domine,
misericordiam tuam,
et salutare tuum da nobis.
Veni, Domine, et noli tardare.
Alleluia.
Drop down, O heavens, from above,
and let the clouds rain down the Just One.
Let the earth open up,
and bring forth salvation.
Show forth to us, O Lord,
thy mercy,
and grant us thy salvation.
Come, O Lord, and tarry not.
Alleluia.

Joseph, lieber Joseph mein

Joseph, lieber Joseph mein,
hilf mir wiegen mein Kindelein.
Gott, der wird dein Löhner sein
im Himmelreich, der Jungfrau Kind Maria.
Eia, eia.
Virgo Deum genuit
quem divina voluit
clementia.
Omnes nunc concinite,
nato regi psallite,
voce pia dicite:
sit gloria Christo, nostra infantulo.
Hodie apparuit in Israël,
quem praedixit Gabriel,
est natus Rex.

Joseph, dearest Joseph mine,
Help me cradle my little child,
God, who will reward thee,
In heaven, O child of Mary.
Eia, eia.
Of a virgin God is born,
showing forth this joyous morn,
God's love to us.
Everyone, his praises sing,
To the new-born Babe, our King,
Voices reverent, voices pure, cry
Glory be to Christ, the Son of God.
Today appears in Israel,
As promised by Gabriel,
The king is born.
