Gloria! Laudes!
Deus homo factus est et immortalis.

In hoc festo determino
Eya, nobis annus est!
Benedicamus Domino!
Gloria! Laudes!
Deus homo factus est et immortalis.

There comes forth a boy,
Eya, to us this season is,
From the womb of a virgin.
Glory! Praise!
God is made man and immortal.

Without the seed of a man
Eya, to us this season is,
Born he is of a virgin.
Glory! Praise!
God is made man and immortal.

Without the help of a man,
Eya, to us this season is,
Born he is of Mary
Glory! Praise!
God is made man and immortal.

At this feast we say,
Eya, to us this season is,
Bless we the Lord.
Glory! Praise!
God is made man and immortal.

Ave Maria

Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae,
et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.

Maria dixit: Ecce ancilla Domini;
fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.

Et verbum caro factum est
et habitavit in nobis.

Ave, Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum:
benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.

Sancta Maria, mater Dei,
ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

The angel of the Lord announced to Mary,
and she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Mary said: Behold the maidservant of the Lord;
Be it to me according to thy word.

And the word was made flesh
and dwelt among us.

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and in the hour of our death. Amen.

There Is No Rose

There is no rose of such virtue
as is the rose that bore Jesu,
Alleluia.

For in this rose contained was
Heaven and earth in little space,
Res miranda.

By that rose we may well see
there be one God in persons three,
Pares forma.

The angels sang the shepherds to:
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Gaudeamus.

Leave we all this worldly mirth
and follow we this joyful birth,
Transeamus.

The Boar's Head Carol

The boar's head in hand bear I,
Bedecked with bays and rosemary;
And I pray you, my masters, be merry,
Quot estis in convivio:

Caput apri defero,
Reddens laudes Domino.

The boar's head, as I understand,
Is the rarest dish in all this land,
Which thus bedecked with a gay garland,
Let us servire cantico:

Our steward hath provided this,
In honor of the King of bliss,
Which on this day to be served is,
In Reginensi atrio:

In quo Christus natus est. = On which Christ was born.
A Patre Unigenitus = Of the Father Only-begotten
Veni redemptor gentium = Come, Redeemer of the nations
Agnoscat omne saeculum = Let every age acknowledge [thee]
Verbum supernum prodiens = The heavenly word proceeding
A solis ortus cardine = Risen from the quarter of the sun
Adam parens quod polluit = Which the parent Adam defiled
Maria ventre concepit = Mary conceived in her womb
Consors paterni luminis = Consort of the Father's light
O lux beata Trinitas = O Trinity, O blessed light
Gloria tibi Domine = Glory to thee, O Lord
Christus hodie Natus est de Virgine. = Today Christ is born of a virgin.
Stellae ducti lumine = led by the light of a star
In excelsis gloria = glory in the highest!
In quo Christus natus est. = On which Christ was born.
assoil = procure forgiveness for
Res miranda = Marvelous thing
Pares forma = one in three
Gloria in excelsis Deo = Glory to God in the highest
Gaudeamus = Let us rejoice
Transeamus = We are transported

Allon, gay bergeres

Allon, gay bergeres,
soyez legeres,
Suyvez moy.

Allon, allon, voir le Roy,
Qui du ciel en terre est nay.
Un beau present luy feray; de quoy?

De ce flagolet que j'ay, tant gay.
Un gasteau luy donneray;
Et moy, Plain Hanap luy offriray.

Ho, ho paix-la! Je le voy;
Il tette bien sans le doigt,
le petit Roy.

Allon, gay Bergeres,
soyez legeres;
Le Roy boit.

Come, gay shepherds,
Be joyful,
Follow me.

Come to see the King
Who, from heaven, on earth is born.
I shall make him a nice present; of what?

Of this flute of mine, so gay.
A cake I shall give him;
And me, a full bumper shall I offer.

Ho, ho, quiet now! I see him;
He suckles well without his thumb,
the little King.

Come, gay shepherds,
Be joyful;
The King is drinking.

Make We Joy Now In This Fest

Make we joy now in this fest,
In quo Christus natus est.
Eya.

A Patre Unigenitus,
Is through a maiden come to us:
Sing we of Him and say `Welcome,
Veni redemptor gencium.
'

Agnoscat omne seculum,
A bright star made three kings to come,
Him for to seek with their presents,
Verbum supernum prodiens.

A solis ortus cardine,
So mighty a Lord is none as He;
And to our kind He hath Him knit,
Adam parens quod polluit.

Maria ventre concepit,
The Holy Ghost was aye her with,
Of her in Bethlem born he is,
Consors paterni luminis.

O lux beata Trinitas,
He lay between an ox and ass,
Beside His mother maiden free,
Gloria tibi Domine.

Blessed Be That Maid Marie

Blessed be that maid Marie,
Born he was of her body.
Very God ere time began,
Born in time the Son of Man.

Christus hodie
Natus est de Virgine.

Sweet and blissful was the song
Chanted of the angel throng:
Peace on earth, alleluia,
In excelsis gloria.

Fare three kings from far-off land,
Incense, gold, and myrrh in hand.
In Bethlem the babe they see
Stellae ducti lumine.

Make we merry on this fest
In quo Christus natus est.
On this child I pray you call
To assoil and save us all.
