Ya viene la vieja

Ya viene la vieja
con el aguinaldo,
le parece mucho,
la viene quitando.

Pampanitos verdes,
hojas de limón,
la Virgen María
Madre del Señor.

Ya vienen los Reyes
por el arenal,
y le traen al Niño
un torre real.

Ya vienen los Reyes
por aquel camino,
y le traen al Niño
sopitas en vino.

Here comes the old lady
with a little gift,
it seems so much to her
that she takes some of it away.

Little green leaves,
leaves of lemon,
The Virgin Mary,
Mother of the Lord.

Here come the kings
over the sand,
and they bring to the Child
a royal tower.

Here come the kings
over this road,
and they bring to the Child
sweet-cakes in wine.

La Virgen lava pañales

La Virgen lava pañales
y los tiende en el romero;
y los pajaritos cantan,
y el agua se va riendo.

Pastores, venid,
pastores llegad
a adorar al Niño
que ha nacido ya.

El Niño Diós se ha perdido
y todos le están buscando;
a la orillita del mar
peces estaba pescando.

The Virgin washes swaddling clothes,
and keeps them in rosemary;
and the little birds sing,
and the water runs along laughing.

Shepherds, come,
shepherds, draw near
to worship the Child
who has just been born.

The Child-God is lost,
and everyone is looking for him;
at the seashore
he was fishing for fish.

Esta Noche

Esta noche nace un Niño
entre la escarcha y el hielo.
Quien pudiera, Niño mío,
vestirte de terciopelo.

¡Alegría y placer!
Esta noche nace un Niño
en el portal de Belén.

La Virgen está lavando
con un poco de jabón.
Se le picaron las manos,
manos de mi corazón.

This night was born a Child
between the frost and the ice.
Who could, my Child,
dress thee in velvet.

Joy and pleasure!
This night was born a Child
at the gate of Bethlehem.

The Virgin is washing
with a little bit of soap.
Her hands are reddened;
hands of my heart.

Keresimesi dun De O

Christmas season is come,
Season of song, season of joy,
Christmas season is come.

Jesus Christ is born into the world.
He came to save his children from sin.
The Son of Mary, He died for us.
The Son of Joseph, He died for us.
He came down to save us from evil.

We are glad that we have a Father to trust.
We are glad that we have a Father to rely on.
Where was Jesus born?
Where was He born?
Bethlehem, the city of wonder.
That is where the Father was born for sure.
Praise be to Him.
We thank you for this day,
Gracious Father.
Praise be to you, O Father,
Merciful Father.

Gloria in excelsis

Gloria in excelsis Deo,
et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
Laudamus te, benedicimus te,
adoramus te, glorificamus te,
gratias agimus tibi
propter magnam gloriam tuam.
Domine Deus, rex caelestis,
Deus Pater Omnipotens.
Domine Fili unigenite, Jesu Christe,
Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Filius Patris.
Qui tollis peccata mundi,
miserere nobis.
Qui tollis peccata mundi,
suscipe deprecationem nostram.
Qui sedes ad dexteram Patris,
miserere nobis.
Quoniam tu solus sanctus;
tu solus Dominus;
tu solus altissimus,
Jesu Christe,
cum Sancto Spiritu
in gloria Dei Patris.
Amen.
Glory to God in the highest,
And peace to his people on earth.
We praise thee, we bless thee,
we adore thee, we glorify thee,
We give thanks to thee
for thy great glory.
Lord God, heavenly king,
God the Father Almighty.
Lord only-begotten Son Jesus Christ,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father.
Who takest away the sin of the world,
have mercy on us.
Who takest away the sin of the world,
receive our prayer.
Who sittest at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For thou only art holy;
thou only art the Lord;
thou only art most high,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

O Magnum Mysterium

O magnum mysterium
et admirabile sacramentum,
ut animalia viderent Dominum natum,
jacentem in praesepio!

Beata Virgo, cujus viscera
meruerunt portare Dominum Christum.
Alleluia!

O great mystery
and wondrous sacrament,
that animals should see the Lord new-born
lying in the manger!

O blessed Virgin, whose womb
was worthy to bear the Lord Christ.
Alleluia!

Gaudete

Gaudete, gaudete!
Christus est natus ex Maria Virgine.

Tempus adest gratiae
hoc quod optabamus
carmine laeticiae
devote reddamus.

Deus homo factus est,
natura mirante;
Mundus renovatus est
a Christo regnante.

Ezekelis porta
clausa pertransitur
unde lux est orta,
salus invenitur.

Ergo nostra concio
psallat jam in lustro,
Benedicat Domino,
salus Regi nostro.

Rejoice, rejoice!
Christ is born of the Virgin Mary.

The season of grace
we longed for is here;
With songs of joy
let us eagerly give thanks.

God was made man,
wondrous birth;
The world is renewed
with the reign of Christ.

Ezekiel's gate,
once shut, is now entered;
light arises from it,
and salvation is found.

Therefore let us all
sing now in this assembly;
Bless we the Lord,
to the health of our King.
