INTERMISSION
In dulci jubilo, nun singet und seid froh. Unsers Herzens Wonne leit in praesepio, und leuchet als die Sonne matris in gremio: Alpha es et O. |
In sweet rejoicing, now sing and be joyful. Our heart’s delight lies in the manger, and shines as the sun in his mother’s lap: Thou art alpha and omega. |
Puer natus in Bethlehem, alleluia, Hic jacet in praesepio, alleluia, Reges de Saba veniunt, alleluia, |
A boy is born in Bethlehem, alleluia;
Here lies there in a manger, alleluia,

Quem vidistis pastores? O magnum mysterium
Gloria in excelsis Deo, |
What did you see, shepherds?
Tell us: announce to us what appeared on earth. We saw him born, and the chorus of angels praising the Lord. Alleluia. O great mystery
Glory to God in the highest,

Exultent caeli et gaudeant
angeli, jubilent omnes jubilent hodie, canentes populi in organo laetitiae in citharis et choris. Nam hodie concepta es, Beata Virgo Maria, per quam salus mundi credentibus apparuit. O Maria Mater gratiae Mater misericordiae. Sola fuisti digna portare talentum mundi. Nam hodie angelus Domini nunciavit Mariae et concepit de Spiritu Sancto elegit eam Deus et preelegit eam in tabernaculo suo habita re facit eam. |
Let the heavens exult and the heavens rejoice let all the people shout with joy today, let the people sing with the joyful organ with lyre and dance. For today thou wast conceived, O blessed Virgin Mary, for the salvation of the world; he has appeared to all believers. O Mary, mother of graces, Mother of mercies, alone thou wast worthy to bear the price of the world. For today the angel of the Lord announced to Mary and she conceived by the Holy Spirit; God has chosen her, and foreknew her, in her womb he dwelt who made her. |
O magnum mysterium
et admirabile sacramentum, ut animalia viderent Dominum natum, jacentem in praesepio: Beata Virgo, cujus viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Christum: Alleluja. |
O great mystery and wondrous sacrament, that animals should see the Lord born, lying in a manger: O Blessed Virgin, whose womb was worthy to bear the Lord Christ. Alleluia. |
