The Creative Spirit Newsletter
October 13, 2001
Many
thanks for the responses from members regarding how these pages show up in MAC
vs. PC, and Netscape vs. Internet Explorer. The consensus is that if
you're running IE on a PC you will see everything just fine, including Java
Scripts (floating leaves, etc.) and applets. Netscape appears to be the
cause of most of the incompatibilities, rather than the MAC computers. ( I
spent a lot of time discussing this with my #1 son who uses a MAC with both
Netscape and IE.) Since IE is the browser used by approx. 88% of all
users, I long ago had to make a decision of who to accommodate. It is a
lot of extra work for me to create 2 newsletters. Soooo, I will continue to produce the
newsletters as I have done, but with minimal use of Java script. In the
event that I do use some Java script on a page I will also copy the newsletter
text to the body of the e-mail accompanying the newsletter, thereby making the
hyperlinks operational. How is that?
We
have two new members! Please welcome Toni
to our group. She has some beautiful cats for you to see, poetry, and many
creative ideas in her web pages. Mary
S. is our most recent member and she has many, many cross-stitch patterns to
trade, or share. This is a very extensive site.
This
week we have--for the first time--a recipe! I discovered this on Laurie's
page and it sounded so good that I've included it here, with her permission.

Roasted
Pumpkin Seeds
This
recipe is compliments of Laurie
'Turkey Mama'. Many thanks Laurie!
"Start
this about 1/2 hour before the little tykes are due to arrive and enjoy the
aroma therapy! *grin*."
2
cups pumpkin seeds (scoop out the pumpkins)
1
tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3
Tbsp. melted butter
1
tsp. salt
Rinse
the pumpkin seeds until all the pulp and strings are washed off. In
a medium bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, melted butter or margarine and
salt. Add
the seeds and stir until they are coated. Spread
on a baking sheet and bake at 225 degrees F for 1 to 2 hours, until crisp.
Stir
frequently to prevent scorching. Makes
2 cups. Each 1/2 cup serving contains 668 calories, 56g fat, 15g carb, 752mg

Quote
of the Day
Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do
than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the
safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
