The Creative Spirit Newsletter

September 1, 2991

It has been suggested that The Creative Spirit have a business card.  This would be used by the members when they meet someone who may be interested in visiting our site.  The card would be individually downloaded and printed up on plain paper or the usual business card stock.  There have been a couple samples contributed already, and this has inspired other interest.  If you would like to contribute a sample card, we can have a membership vote.  I will post cards to a special page as they come in and in 2 weeks we will vote.    Cards should be 4" x 2.5", have our URL and our name.  We already have a page with some submissions and you may view them HERE.

In ancient times everything in Nature had meaning.  Certain flowers were renowned for their qualities to attract love or to heal wounds.  Mushrooms were considered to be 'foods for the gods'.  Oak trees imparted strength and willows wept.  Today most of this information is lost.  However, if you would like to refresh your memory cells, today we have a list of the 'symbolic qualities of trees'.

Also on the subject of trees, is the account of Julia "Butterfly" Hill  who lived 180-feet high in an ancient redwood tree named Luna for over TWO YEARS.  Here is the story of her successful effort to save it and the surrounding forest, as well as be an advocate for all life and the power of love. She climbed into Luna on Dec. 10, 1997, and set her bare feet down onto the ground on Dec. 18, 1999.
