Once upon
a time there was a warrior who was given a beautiful stallion.
The
people said he was lucky.
The
warrior said “maybe”.
One
day the stallion ran away.
The
people said he was unlucky.
The
warrior said “maybe”.
Later
the stallion came back with a string of fine ponies.
The
people said he was lucky.
The
warrior said “maybe”.
One
day the warrior’s son was riding a
pony and he fell off and broke his leg.
The
people said he was unlucky.
The
warrior said “maybe”.
Soon
there was a battle and many warriors were killed.
But
the warrior's son was spared because his broken leg
kept him from the battle.
