Three months in the making I was so looking forward to see my favorite band for the second time this week!
Floor seats for the second time this week, seeing Mindless Self Indulgence, Staind, and KoRn with Mike Bordin for the second time this week.
I got to the Centrum early and hung out in the back and Jimmy Urine from MSI was just shooting the shit with us so that was pretty cool.
As it neared 3 pm we got in line for the floor. The 3 hours seemed like forever when you're just standing there anxiously waiting to get in. 6pm the doors opened and I purposely stood about ten rows back from the barricade.
MSI started at about 7:15pm. It seemed like me and my buddies were the only ones into them on the floor. We were the only ones bobbing our heads to them.
Next up Staind played at 8pm. Being blessed by living in the same state as them this was like my 7th time seeing Staind. For my seventh time it seemed like they just got better each time. About as good as you can get them as they marched through their entire album in an hour. Spike and Mikes animation played along while the curtain was closed as the tech crew was setting up for KoRn. The animation was funny but only lasted like 20 minutes. It was 9:20 when they finished so they were going through a thorough sound check for about another 20 minutes.
At 9:40 the lights dimmed and the faint sound of the bagpipes echoed faintly throught the arena. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting the giant red curtain dropped and there they were; Jon, James, Reggie, Brian, and Mike. The guitar riff to Falling Away From Me was stuck and that sent an eruption through the crowd. As the rest of the band Exploded into it, the floor got crazy! I started a Pit and there were like 7 of them on the floor at once and the entire floor was always jumping. Marching through a 18 song set (setlist later) it was phenomenal. Right after Klown the boys took a mini break and Jon changed. He was hoisted on a platform while playing the bagpipe introduction to Shoots And Ladders showing off his Scottish side wearing his Kilt. As he was ending it he walked to the foot of the stage looked out to the crowd pumped his fist and gave a little smirk as only he can. The crowd exploded in cheer showing their appreciation. About 3/4 of the way through the set KoRn left the stage and Staind came out and covered Need To, that kicked ass. KoRn then came on and wrapped it up. They stormed off stage after Kill You, but the crowd wouldn't let them leave yet. Chants of "KoRn, KoRn, KoRn" drew the guys back and as Davis growled "Are You Ready!!!", the floor really got sick.
The only downset to this soncert was Mike Bordin's playing, after a while I just tuned him out and enjoyed the show.
All in all I have to say ONE of the best concerts I have ever attended.
